Changes coming to UNIVISION??

104.9 HD 4 Is now RADIO POSITIVA Texas also on 106.1 .

That leaves TUDN Radio on 1010 am, 93.3 FM, 102.9 HD2 and 104.9 HD3

It’s been more than a month and Univision still has TUDN on 4 different frequencies. Why is Univision programming it on 104.9 HD3 why doesn’t it just move Radio Positiva to 104.9 HD3 and close HD4?

Or move KXTN back to 102.9 HD2? They probably have more HD signals than they know what to do with.
A cluster in SA was broadcasting regular FM stations from the same area on each others' HD signals last I heard them.

Because it's HD Radio. Not many people use it and most don't know these channels exist.

Furthermore, I don't know what "Positiva" is. But I imagine they're not making enough revenue to care about the sound quality or location. As long as they get their lease payments, they're good. As for their Tejano rebroadcast, it is just a courtesy to the few fans they have.

If I remember correctly they had that Panthera 87.9 on an UNIVISION subchannel over there. I think on 92.9 HD 3.

Well 106.1 is legal. LOL or partially legal with a primary signal.

That one is. But do you know how many aren’t downtown? Crazy that those are all owned by the same group though.

HD2 sounds better than HD3, usually. This is because all the HD stations I have heard with HD2 and HD3 signals have low bandwidth on HD3 or HD4.
HD bandwidth is purely discretionary. It can be divided up however a station wants between HD1, 2 and 3.

Strange that Univision allows stations in the same Language to lease up translators..San antonio, Miami just to mention a few.
They are not formats that are directly competitive with those of Univision's own stations. At the risk of being annoying with the repetition, Spanish is a language, not a format.

You sure? The SA La Pantera plays lots of regional Mexican. Spanish hits too, it's like a cross between 92.9 95.1 and soccer games.

Regional along with contemporary hits is not a viable format anywhere.
