Waterloo Media Launches Mega 102.7 Austin

What will happen to the Dance HD signal they operate or used to operate, known as Mega? Will it change it's name?

It's still dance on 93.3 HD-3 but now called "The Party".

I never really got the format on the vibe. It was nothing like San antonio's Vibe. They played a lot what bob FM played plus new stuff. Never stuck with a format.

And like that, all the former Latino 102.7 social media pages are gone.

Worst 7 month stunt ever!

The whole thing is so weird. Also, I've been sampling Mega this afternoon and it sounds a lot different to me than the old Latino. Certainly some of the same songs and artists on both, but Mega seems a lot more varied with a significantly larger playlist.

A couple of things that stand out to me after listening for a while... very very little imaging. The flow and pacing for the music mix, in my opinion, is pretty bad. Energetic cross-over songs followed by slow ballads. It's.... strange.

Waterloo is a train wreck. All they seem to know how to do is ruin stations.
Come 'on, Stan. You don't really believe that.

Waterloo is a good outfit, this recent situation with 102.7 (and 93.3) not withstanding.

Bob is great. Both KLBJs are doing well. 101X is good. La Z is strong. Emmis flipped formats too. Remember Comedy 102.7?

They ruined KGSR first changing frequencies then destroying the AAA format, downgraded both it and Bob, let quality folks go from KLBJ-FM. That’s quite a success story.

Nationally, commercial AAA stations have been flipping to other formats and the future seems to be a listener supported format due to the older demos and limited audience that format attracts. You can't blame an owner for moving on when a format matures out of salable demographics,

I still remember Hot 93.3 KDHT... Would listen to that station all the time when I was in it's coverage area.
