"WE" 103.3 is on the MOVE

Alpha Media seems to be committed to the Hip Hop format as WE moves from 103.3 to 94.5 and becomes WE 94-5 in February.

No word if ESPN SA moves to 103.3.

Those two translators aren't terribly different. 103.3 is from the TotA and 94.5 isn't, but 103.3 has a more directional pattern.

I am very curious what the thinking on this would be. It seems the effort to swap signals and all the branding wouldn't be worth any minor gains it might produce. And why announce it two months out? Weird.

Or simulcasting with a new station at 103.1/KHHL. they could just call it "103", not the ".3".

I meant take 103.1 away from La Ley, launch something different on 103.1/103.3. Or is 103.1 a valuable part of La Ley?

They should bring alt rock back. "103 Alt FM"?

Nationally, the Alternative format is struggling to stay alive. And, it wouldn't make sense for Alpha Media to bring the format back after it failed locally.

To be clear, Alpha Media hasn't announced if ESPN will move to 103.3 or if a new format will occupy the frequency. I tend to lean that ESPN will not move to 103.3.

Why would they just swap signals like that? 103.3 was just upgraded anyway. Not sure that is a good idea, seems they're just ready for change..

It doesn't make a lot of sense because the coverage map is pretty much the same for both translators.

SA does have a lot of Dallas transplants, perhaps they just wanted to make them feel at home with a familiar ESPN103-3 Moniker.

Too bad ESPN Dallas will be no more later this year as they've been sold to VCY America and will be a Christian format soon.

If KEMA ever gets back on the air, We 94.5 will have a tough time fighting with it. Red Dirt country and hip-hop mixed together... Different demographics LOL

I'm surprised you took it seriously. It certainly wasn't meant to be taken seriously. In the future, I'll do a better job of differentiating sarcasm from legitimate speculation.

I've heard even stupider things on these boards that the posters were absolutely serious about
