NCE Window permit goes from 90.1 to 88.7 in Scottsbluff

My Bridge Radio, and the Bible Broadcasting Network, have been competing for a spot at 90.1 FM on the dial ever since FCC Auction 109 occurred in November. The FCC's solution seems to be to move MyBridge to 88.7 and keep BBM on 90.1, and to prevent interference to co-channel KDNR of Cheyenne, WY, there seems to be some sort of null towards Laramie County. The transmitter itself is located in Bayard, intriguingly. Remember, MyBridge already has KPNY Alliance, so it will be interesting to see what they do.

Speaking of Cheyenne, by the way, there are two competing permits on 89.1 FM, so, similarly to STF, I have to wonder what alternate frequency would work for these stations. At the moment, the two don't overlap too badly, but in the Cheyenne area, 89.1 will be a mess of stations, and K206EO would have to move if anything gets approved. As for the aforementioned new permits, I would possibly recommend the Hillsdale one move to 100.3, once home to a translator in Cheyenne. Because Hillsdale is a good deal further east than CHY, the new 100.3 wouldn't interfere with KIMN out of Denver the way K258DN interferes with KQMT.

There's no such thing as "the FCC's solution." It's up to the parties themselves to determine whether any alternate frequencies are available and work out a resolution, which then goes to the FCC for its approval.

You cant move a non comm permit up to 100.3

My Bridge also owns KMMJ 750 which is in spanish .. this new FM could be for that

I think there may be confusion between filing windows. Auction 109 was last summer for commercial frequencies (92.1 - 107.9). The NCE filing window was in the Fall for noncommercial frequencies (88.1 - 91.9). The two bands are not interchangeable with full power stations, as SomeRadioGuy mentioned above.

Oops my bad, I meant the NCE window.

Yes that's true. I am referring to this application, held by Cheyenne Broadcasting Foundation, held by Kristopher Michael, brother of Victor who has a 104.3 permit in Kimball, so I wonder if they are actually considered to be non-profit, and can they change?

Yes that's true. I do wonder if the "Cheyenne Broadcasting Foundation" is definitely non-commercial, since the owners of CBF include good 'ol Michael who has a commercial on 104.3 in Kimball.

Uh they have to be, and they are legally seperate in the eyes of the FCC

Vic Michaels is also who owns KFCY 88.1 in Cheyenne, running the Rocky FM music format or whatever it is

Good to know, thanks!

In my experience, they'll play like two country songs in a row, and then a rock song, and then another country song, and then that Soul Sister song from the late 90's that is more Hot AC, but has a "country" mix in the background. Then they play more country music, etc. It's an unusual station, but I enjoy it from time to time.

This group of stations has been SOLVED! Officially, 90.1 was approved March 4th and 88.7 was approved March 7th, leading both BBN and MyBridge well on their way to hopefully building their stations by 2025. I will hope for the best, but sadly, a lot of them give up halfway through. Hopefully the Scottsbluff area will get both of these fine stations.

BBN on 90.1 has a brand new callsign of KYBF.
