Two things:
1. KREX has always been a primary CBS station
2. KUTV was an NBC affiliate at this time (CBS was on KSL in Utah; the two would swap affiliations in 1995)

So ftballfan was right when he said that KREX has always been a primary CBS affiliate. That's correct.
But Mr. Tony was also correct because KREX was a secondary NBC affiliate until 1996 when KKCO signed on the air.
KREX was really the only game in town until 1979 when KJCT (now KJCT-LP) came aboard, then KKCO in 1996. KREX also carried FOX programs on a secondary basis until 1997 and then the market wouldn't fully gain a primary FOX affiliate until KFQX came on board in 2000.
And the Forum's Kentucky based listings provider missed the memo about KREX- they still listed the station as airing all 3 networks, despite KJCT's presence...they also had KUTV listed as independent.
