If you can remember back during weeknights, usually at 7:30 (6:30 Central and Mountain Time), there were different syndicated shows in that timeslot, consisting of game shows in the '70s, and first-run sitcoms in the '80s on at least one station in that market.

In Iowa there were no first run sitcoms in the 6:30pm time slot as they aired on weekends. The networks aired game shows Win, Lose or Draw (1987-88) on ABC TV 5 and Wheel of Fortune (til 1990) on CBS tv 8. NBC tv 13 aired reruns of sitcoms like Night Court or Cheers. KDSM tv 17 aired the A-Team then for a few years at 6pm till it moved to 1pm then at 6:30pm they aired A Current Affair.

CORRECTION: The 1986-87 Monday slot was acutally reruns of Square Pegs until the new first-run Charles in Charge took over on January 12, 1987.

Much like how, in SF, syndie Feud was only on KRON its first season before switching to KPIX...
Similarly with Dennis James' Price is Right switching from KPIX to KRON for his last season before Bob Barker took over the year after.

Turns out I was wrong about KRON (San Francisco) not having a weeknight 7:30 p.m. checkerboard schedule for 1978-79. Here it is:

M: Consumer Buyline (David Horowitz)
Tu: The Cheap Show (Dick Martin)
W: The $1.98 Beauty Show (Rip Taylor)
Th: Bonkers (Hudson Brothers)
F: Please Stand By (sitcom)

Tic-Tac-Dough moved to KRON's 7:30 slot on March 5, 1979, moving from KBHK at 6:30.
