If anyone needs KHSE Wylie, TX on 700 kHz they are at equal strength with WLW playing Indian music. Must be on their day power.

Last night 1/26/2022 between 10:00pm and 10:45pm CST aimed NNE, I was hearing weak ESPN Sports on 1000 kHz under XEOY's pop music, occasionally fading up to the top briefly. The talk and PSA's matched WMVP's web stream, but with KSOO also ESPN I can't be certain which one I heard. 50kw vs 100 watts would tilt it toward being WMVP, however, its possible KSOO could have been on day power. I will have to try again to ID if I hear them again, normally its all XEOY with weak KTOK news/talk.

Finally got a definitive ID tonight on the ESPN station I’ve been hearing weakly on 1000 kHz fading up occasionally to mix with XEOY and KTOK. 1/29/2022 10:48pm CST: “ESPN 1000 Chicago’s Home For Sports”. WMVP confirmed.

I never thought I'd get a second station on 700. And there's KHSE. Also never knew WLW played Indian music. A lot o'learnin' for late on a Saturday night.

That signal can really get out during the day with coverage all across the state of Arizona and into California and New Mexico. Night-time would be even better, but it powers down to 1,000 watts with a severe directional pattern to the south. I know there was a time last year (or two years ago) where they were still on daytime power at night and it definitely was wrecking havoc with WCCO from Minneapolis and AM 830 KLAA from Orange, California.

It was about 25 minutes before Tucson sunset so surely day power.
 
WHKY was booming on the Athens, GA SDR last night. The only thing you could hear on that freq. Tonight, it's weak and fading in and out with a lot of noise from UNID stations. Definitely not 50KW tonight.

WHKY was "missing in action" last night here at my current location near Pensacola.
 
If anyone needs KFXN Minneapolis, MN on 690 they are coming in quite well with programming in Hmong language. Heard at 8:45 pm CST.

WSON, Henderson, KY all alone on 860 with classic rock. No sign of CJBC at 9:05 pm CST.

KCKN Roswell NM also coming well on 1020 at 9:10 pm CST.

Right now, on 1570 I'm hearing KCVR, Lodi, California with Punjabi prayer chants. It's the first time I've heard it this clearly, and alone on the frequency (usually it's a weak XERF, with KCVR showing up now and then underneath, or mixing with XERF).

KCVR must get their prayer / chants (which are a Sikh early morning practice, from what I understand) from a different source than 1600 KVRI Blaine WA, which also plays similar style programming early in the a.m.

As regards WHKY, the plot thickens. After being absent yesterday before dawn, today WHKY was in with a good signal here (near Pensacola). At one point, it blew out everything else on 1290 for about three minutes.

And then, a totally unexpected "bonus". WIRL I heard the Beatles "Love me Do" under WHKY at the beginning of a fade No positive ID, but I clearly heard the "Super Hits" branding. So I'm pretty comfortable in guessing that WIRL is what I was hearing. Their figure eight pattern would be favorable tp Pensacola. For the next few minutes, fragments of oldies were audible. All of this around 90 minutes before local dawn....or around 5am CST.

Finally, a note for my fellow Chicago area DXers. WGN and WBBM were both in this morning. Both alone, but WGN was the stronger of the two. WSCR and WLS were each covered up by Cuba. For WSCR that's business as usual, but usually WLS is at least present, if not occasionally on top. WMVP was also missing this morning. 1000 was XEOY comfortably on top of the channel (with music), but with another weak signal....in Spanish...underneath.

1290-WHKY Hickory, NC poor but steady and readable with NASCAR talk at 8:20pm CST 2/1/2022. ID “WHKY 1290 and 102.3 FM”. New logging and new state for me.
 
New catch on 1150 at 8:23 pm CST. WSNW Seneca, SC with "Light FM" slogans. AC oldies format.
 
On 880 AM, I'm getting a Christian music station, about equal in strength to KRVN. At around 7:45 I had Big Daddy Weave, and at 7:51, I had Matt Maher. My best guess is KHAC out of New Mexico. Any ideas?

In DFW, Texas I’m hearing UnID preaching in English on 880 KHz in KRVN null aimed E/W. At 9:21pm CST a spot for Tony Evans dot org. Fading up occasionally mixing with KJOZ and WCBS.
 
Does anyone need 1280 the Zone? (KZNS Salt Lake City) They were booming in here half an hour ago, like a local, so day power assumed. They are still pretty decent in Cheyenne right now.
 
1290 is becoming the "frequency of interest" for me so far here on the beach....

I checked 1290 at around 10pm CST last night (2/1), and again WHKY was booming in. Checked back at around 5am this morning, and it was WJNO from West Palm Beach booming in.. Distance 508 miles...just slightly closer than WHKY. Both the day and night patterns for WJNO favor my current location (10kw day, 4.9kw night). No trace of WHKY...or for that matter, WIRL. I've also been expecting to hear WHIO, but so far, that hasn't happened,

At least I've got something to keep myself occupied. :)
