Remember that "sunset" for Mexican daytimers is the same all year, usually 7 PM local time (unless this has been changed in recent years).
My listening from this location has been exclusively after 7pm CST.
and if you think most mexican AM's power down at night, ive got a bridge in Tijuana/san diego to sell you

I don't know if what I've heard these past few nights is indeed Mexico. The signal is weak, under a strong WSM, and I haven't been able to ID it. The question asked of me was whether I had heard anything from Yucatan. One possibility was 650 if they were staying on day power at night. That may well be the case, but I just don't know at this point. I'll try to keep monitoring 650 to see if the Spanish signal continues and if I can get an ID.

There are a couple of Cubans listed on 650. That would seem to be more likely from your location.

There are definitely more Cubans available here than Mexico stations. Even most of the big signals from Mexico don't do all that well here. One exception is the 1060 from Mexico City. (Former XEEP). Good signal and interesting music mix. Folk, jazz, and light classical. A;most all instrumentals. As for Cuba, that had crossed my mind, and it does make sense. Obviously, if that's what I'm hearing, it's not one of the big networks.

New stations logged. Thanks to @wildthangjim for the tip on WBT.

1110 KEJL NM Humble City (Hobbs) 2/6/2022 1833 CST ID 100.5, ad for Martin Boot Co. in Hobbs. Good in KFAB null.
1110 WBT NC Charlotte 2/8/2022 0615 CST Charlotte weather, WBT ID, fair mixing with SS in KFAB null.
1660 KQWB ND West Fargo 2/8/2022 0700 CST Mentions of Fargo, fair - mixing with KRZI and KWOD on the car radio.

Update: 650 this morning before sunrise at my February location. WSM strong. The signal underneath was weaker than in recent days (assuming it was the same one that I've heard previously). I'll keep checking from time to time. Meanwhile, I got an education today about fishing in Tennessee lakes and rivers. :)

In DFW on 650 kHz, I have received XETNT Los Mochis, Sinaloa just prior to my local SR when partially nulling WSM. Listed power differs depending on the source. Programming matched their web stream.

If anybody needs to log daytimer WUMY (Memphis, TN), they are dominating 830 kHz with Spanish language religious programming (talk and music). Frequent mentions of Buenas Nuevas.

At least 2 or 3 times last year, I heard them staying on all night and blowing out WCCO. As I recall, it goes on for a few days and then it stops.

MUF of 92 over EN51. This would probably set up a decent path between NYC and Central Nebraska.

I've been hearing Fox Sports Radio on the Athens, GA SDR, fairly listenable tonight on 1290. I was hoping for a TOH ID but right at TOH, guess who popped in loud and clear with weather and ID? WHKY. They immediately faded and it was back to FSR. This is a very strange freq that I've never listened to until @cyberdad brought it up.
WHKY carries some Fox Sports as well as political talk shows, 1290 is a very interesting frequency, with WHIO as a former local......which still got clobbered regularly

O/T in a way, so I'll be quick. I saw mention of this station XEEP.

What is the power of XEEP, pls ? Often driving around the car at night while tuned to KYW I hear just music behind the news. Lots of instrumentals. No announcements. I never knew if I was hearing Mexico or Cuba.

And where might XEEP be located? Near the Yucatan? Farther inland ?

Tia!

XEEP, which recently changed its name to XECPAE, is in Mexico City with 50 kw day/20 kw night nondirectional. The station comes in well on the Gulf Coast and makes it very difficult to receive KYW. Their 10kw 6.185 mhz shortwave signal is also good.

Got a San Francisco two-fer this morning, 2/11/2022:

680-KNBR 6:20am CST Fair and steady with KFEQ nulled and KKYX not yet on day pattern. CBS Sports Radio program, ad mentioning Palo Alto, and KNBR 680 ID. This is a relog, but much clearer than the first time I heard them.

740-KCBS 6:28am CST Weak in the mud, with radio aimed west away from KTRH, which was very weak also. CBS News, "... on the 8's", and KCBS ID heard at 6:30am. This is a new log, although, I'm pretty sure I heard them before, but could not get a positive ID.

From Houston, times CST

900 UNID, maybe WKDA Lebanon TN, 2/7/22 0605 "Rhinestone Cowboy", then "wake up w/MJ weekday mornings at 6 on WANT real country 98.9". Odd thing, WANT's website shows their AM as on 1490. WKDA 900 is owned by the same company as WANT but Wikipedia and Radio Locator show it as Radio Luz, Spanish religion. NRC Log shows WKDA 900 as Real Country w/FM at 101.9. Confusing...
Update on this mystery. I tried the Nashville-area SDR a couple of times but had static on AM, making it impossible to hear 900. This morning the static had cleared a little and I was able to confirm that 900 is simulcasting WANT FM 98.9. I also found this Reddit post from 2 months ago saying WKDA is now running //WANT in the mornings, adult standards after noon (click on link and scroll down). So no more Radio Luz.

So, mystery solved. This station should be doable early in the morning when they've gone to 5kw day power (and before my local 900 signs on). Current sunrise there is 6:36am, so either they've powered up too early or I heard it on their night power of 136w.

Nicely done on KCBS.

I could hear KAAY's top 40 format between our sunset and Little Rock's. When I lived in Quincy, IL, KAAY's fire and brimstone preaching blasted in at night.
KAAY has been a dependable catch in Columbus since it went omni, even with reduced power. Its sidebands are all over WTAM at the moment.
