99.5 HD 2

It appears that 99.5 HD 2 has been deactivated. It had been airing The Breeze.
Sometimes having the HD off indicates that the station is on its "other" transmitter which is called and auxiliary or emergency transmitter. Because HD did not produce interest or revenue when new, some stations did not buy the HD equipment for the spare transmitter. See if in a day or two it comes back.

The HD signal is on but as skiwest mentioned, the HD-2 channel is gone. Also, WMMS HD-3 Alternative Rock is also off.

WGAR-HD2 appears to be deactivated now. Very sad, as The Breeze was about the only thing worth listening to on terrestrial radio here in the Cleveland area. WMJI also did the same a while back, dropping Real Oldies (also worth listening to) from their HD2, switching it to a 50's format until deactivating it for the time being.

I think it's time for 106.5 The Lake to change their format, seeing that 70% of their playlist is the same as Majic's. Why not place The Breeze there instead? Cleveland is devoid of a soft rock format that's similar to what WDOK & WHOF once had.

It's been off for over a month. But the sound quality was mediocre compared to something like WCLV on WCPN 90.3 HD-2. It sounded compressed and bit starved.

This is part of a nationwide trend of The Breeze subchannels being turned off. HD subchannels airing The Breeze have been turned off in some markets including Hartford, Denver, Dallas/Fort Worth and Chicago, while still on in others including New York, Jacksonville, and Spokane.
