Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show Lineup Announced (2022)

Here are the ratings for NFC Playoffs and AFC Playoffs that is released.
For starters, The NFL on CBS‘ broadcast of the Cincinnati Bengals’ overtime victory against the Kansas City Chiefs averaged 47.9 million viewers, marking the most-watched Conference Championship Game in the early window in six years (since the Pats beat the Broncos in front of an audience of 53.3 million).

The Bengals-Chiefs match-up peaked with just shy of 61 million viewers.

Later in the day, the Los Angeles Rams’ 20-17 victory over the San Francisco 49ers amassed 50.4 million total viewers across Fox, Fox Deportes, Fox Sports streaming platforms, NFL Digital and Yahoo! Sports properties. That marks the most watched NFC Championship face-off since 2014 (when the Seattle Seahawks beat the Green Bay Packers, in front of an audience of nearly 56 million).

My local paper said each team had a player from my area. Also, there was a major front page headline about the win because one of these guys made an important play. It said everyone in his town was focused on the game.

Don't you just love that feeling you get? "Wait, someone from around here is on the national stage? Sweet! Represent us good out there!"

Just hours away now... This year I'm just not seeing much in the way of hype or excitement on social media about the game, or the halftime show. In fact, one of my FB friends who's a nurse posted a meme which used this years' halftime show lineup to remind people about the need for colonoscopies.

You stay classy, republicans! Nothing says 'murica like telling the sitting President of the United States to go @#$% himself during a Super Bowl ad, promoting your campaign!

GOP Senate candidate to run "Let’s go Brandon" Super Bowl ad

David McCormick, the former CEO of Bridgewater Associates who is running for a Pennsylvania U.S. Senate seat, will air a "Let’s go Brandon" ad during the Super Bowl Sunday, Fox News first reported.
Background: "Let's go Brandon" became a popular chant intended as a veiled insult against President Biden among some on the right, after a Talladega Superspeedway reporter interpreted a crowd chanting "F--k Joe Biden" as "Let's Go Brandon" on television.

I think I said this last year, but the Networks should be turning down ANY political ads during the Super Bowl.
It wouldn't be NBC at the network level. It would be up to the affiliates in Pennsylvania, and I don't think they're allowed to.

Most likely they can’t already if they’ve taken ads for the race. Even if they haven’t yet, it would be astoundingly foolish to decline to accept an ad for what’s going to be a race dripping in cash.

LA Rams Wins the Super Bowl!! and NBC Sports is back to the Olympics at least for the West Coast NBC Affiliates like KNTV San Jose this was the case. For East Coast NBC Stations not so sure given that local News would be on after Super Bowl. KNBC-TV The Home Station of the Rams in the Super Bowl yes News is airing on their website with Rams Press Conference in their post game show.

and KNBC TV is airing expanded coverage of the Rams Winning the SuperBowl on their Web Page.

That seemed like an awfully quick post-game show. NBC looked like they wanted to get back to the Olympics ASAP. Other than Michaels and Collinsworth, it looked to me like the Super Bowl was almost an afterthought for NBC.

The Post Game show is mainly on KNBC-TV the Rams home station for the Super Bowl given that it was a home game for them. Mike Tirico was told by producers to leave the Super Bowl right away for the Olympics.

Hmmm, not if you tuned in earlier in the day. They were in full pre-game mode starting around 1PM. If they hadn't gone back to the Olympics, they would have had some kind of major show premiere. The main obligation of the post game is to present the trophy, Once that's done, you want to hold that audience for the next big show. Not bore them with a lot of yak-yak-yak.

My take aways (may contain spoilers)
*I love that new score bug design!
20220213_214559.jpg
*Matthew Stafford has an offensive line that Joe Burrow lacks, but Burrow is more clever.
*We saw OBJ, Von Miller, Eli Apple, etc. all reclaim some former glory.
*Literally most of the flags were in the 4th quarter LOL. I do wonder if the Super Bowl policy of just roll with the play will get any traction?
*The Halftime show: Good if you're into that kind of music. The rest of us could've used some translators or something. Press 1 for English, anyone?
*HFT Part 2: At least they are awesome entertainers and that house set was cool. (y)
*HFT Overall: Meh. Definitely toned down due to COVID-19. But they tried. Better luck next year.
*Other aspects of the game. Great coverage (Al Michaels and Chris Collinsworth makes for a dynamic duo), A good close match-up worth watching. It's to bad there was a few injuries, but I'm glad they didn't pull any experiments on the SB.

Good point about the post-game show. But I had zero interest in anything before the opening kickoff. When I was home, I was watching college basketball on CBS and Fox.

I have no use or time for hype. As far as I'm concerned, the NFL season ends with the Conference Championships, with the lone exception of the Super Bowl game itself (aka, kickoff to final gun, without commercials and halftime). For the next six months, the NFL is dead to me except for the draft in April. There's too much going on in other sports that actually mean something. See ya in August. :D

In the NFL, there are 32 teams, 30 of which don't make it to the superbowl. So for the rest of us, the off-season began in January. Teams like Denver, for instance, has complete tunnel vision of next season. To them, it's July. 2021 is not the season they're in anymore!

Denver will likely have a new owner within the next couple months, namely Byron Allen. Things will change the minute he takes over, such as John Elway being fired, the Manning brothers being involved, and Aaron Rodgers as their next starting QB.
