Resolution in WLRN Battle

The long-running battle between Dade County Public Schools and WLRN appears to be over:


Friends of WLRN will take over management. The Dade County School Board retains the license.
 
Originally the school board had put the PBS station in charge of radio:

I thought it was something about WLRN employees being Miami-Dade Schools employees and them being subject to their background check requirements and possible conflicts of interest
 
There are plenty of soap operas in commercial radio
In South Florida also a few "Twilight Zone" episodes...."The End of 96X" and the ultimate from 1979 "How To Destroy a Radio Station from The Country Giant WGMA, to WADY, The Lady on 1320 For Singles Only" . Strange but true!

I remember "The Lady." Buddy Hollis was their morning guy IIRC.
