but ask the radi ogeeks and old radio guys, if KAAY would just start playing 3000 oldies with live djs, theyd be back to their former glory

It works for some stations, but the demand has to be there. One can't pick and choose a station to drop olides on, unless their rich. Alright, let's get Jeff Besos to fund an oldies version of KAAY. The dude makes $320 million...per DAY. Sheesh.

I did not have the pleasure of hearing Beaker Street because the night pattern got nowhere near me. I had an hour or so of reception around sunset.

Yep! He was one of the preachers block that began around 9 or 10pm IIRC.
With the prospect of 80 watts at night, Clyde Clifford is already spinning in his grave.
We've got a strong Auoura tonight, it is blocking 95% of all my stations. I am getting WWL New Orleans very strong, and WBAP is in decently, KOA in the clear. But literally no sign of KRVN, WGN, KFAB, KTWO, etc.
Regarding the old KAAY, I remember they were the only station that played music on Sunday night in the 60s that I could receive. Everyone else had their religious or public affairs programming.

In addition to the already weird night, I now have KFAB being thrown around by this music station. Any ideas, anyone?
