DFW, Texas -- Times are CST

Conditions overnight favored close-in stations. Some of the Houston and San Antonio stations that I hear only marginally, were booming in, for instance, 950-KPRC and 930-KLUP.

Several new stations logged:

1230 KLVT TX Levelland 2/21 0500 TSN news, local ads // stream. Weak but occasionally fading up to good.
1260 KKSA TX San Angelo 2/21 0302 Promo for Texas Men's Basketball, ID, weak but faded up mixing with KBRH.
1360 KWWJ TX Baytown 2/21 0415 Urban gospel, weak mixing with KKTX. In narrow null of local KMNY.
1360 KKTX TX Corpus Christi 2/21 0430 "NewsRadio 1360 KKTX", America In The Morning. Weak narrow null of local KMNY.
1370 KFRO TX Longview 2/21 0336 Oldies, KFRO ID, fair to good.
1420 KBTN MO Neosho 2/21 0445 Fox Sports with Joplin ad, weak mixing with KGNB.
1470 KLCL LA Lake Charles 2/20 2100 Dave Ramsey, TOH "You're listening to KLCL Lake Charles", Townhall News. Good signal.

So tonight, there was a sports station overriding KESJ on 1550. There was two possible options for the sports station, one an ESPN out of Nebraska, and a CBS Sports out of Kansas. Luckily, I have a local CBS sports affiliate (1240 KFBC), and 1500 KSTP was just booming in the whole time, so I could conpare and contrast. Unfortunately, the 1550 station was in and out. However, the voices more closely aligned CBS, so I suspect KDCC Dodge City is running day power here.
---
By the way, @cyberdad, KESJ calls themselves "Joe-town 107.5" nowadays, and they had some nice Variety going on. "Total Eclipse of the Heart", followed by "I wanna Rock and roll all night" by KISS, and then a little while later, "More than a feeling" by Boston. I was able to confirm KESJ via their internet stream. But now I can say I have heard whoever this sports station is, I guess?
---
Also, 1520 KOKC loud and clear with a legal ID, which has me metaphorically banging my head because I should've recorded it! Gotta love the "reaching over a million Oklahomans" remark.
KXEL did return to air, and they had something about a KXEL newsletter, than a forecast, followed by Bill Cunningham. In fact, it seemed like everyone was playing his show. WLW did, so does KGAB, and so did WGN. Interestingly though, KOA decided to air reruns of C to C.
---
Finally, that Canadian on 1610 came for a slight visit.

KESJ has been Joetown 107.5 for 3 years... it and KDCC were regulars in Laramie

WGN carries Cunningham? Yikes. Cunningham originates at WLW. Randy Michaels wanted to bring Cunningham to WGN at the same time he brought Mike McConnell from WLW. WGN's audience rejected McConnell, they'd have run Cunningham out on a rail
I remember WGN going after McConnel and Cunningham. McConnel, of course, came and went. I stand to be corrected, but IIRC, Cunningham had initially indicated that he would join WGN, and then backed out. Probably a wise choice.

Daytimer 750-KSEO Durant, OK is on the air at 9:25pm CST 2/20 playing Good-time Oldies. They are not a powerhouse, but could be interesting DX for some.
I cialed up 750 this morning a little before 5am CST this morning. WSB was comfortably on top, but I was hearing what sounded like music underneath. Very weak, and I couldn'ID whatever it was.

That is correct to my understanding. McConnell took the job and just apparently didn't catch on. I can't imagine Cunningham on middays. Randy Michaels "taught the grand old lady to dance" in "younging up" WLW in the 80s but trying to make WGN "outrageous" just wasn't happening in the 2010s.

DFW, Texas

Canadians coming in tonight (2/24), all relogs:
680 CJOB mixing with KFEQ
740 CFZM fair on top of channel
750 CKJH weak in WSB null
800 CKLW fair, reliably in most every night
860 CJBC weak under KKOW
990 CBW fair in local KFCD null
1610 CHHA fair
Nice! So much for the auroral conditions that were widely reported earlier this month.

It's like you have a direct path to Canada! I'm very envious. ~250 miles south of you CKLW and CHHA are the only ones I've heard, with a tentative CJBC once, mixed with KKOW, KONO, and the two Mexican stations. CKJH should be possible as it's right-angle to WSB from here. Unfortunately, all I've heard on 750 in WSB's null are the Cuban and KMMJ.

As good as conditions were on 2/24, they were mediocre last night. All I could hear was CKLW.

DFW, Texas - Sangean ATS-909X - One new station this morning:

1420 KTOE Mankato, MN 3/3 2:30am CST. Weak fading up to fair with ID "Information Radio KTOE". News and local weather, then into Coast to Coast.

1420 is a frequency where I don't hear much, no dominant station, just a few one-time catches.

Nice! KTOE is a nighttime monster in the Minnesota and Wisconsin Northwoods. But rara in the Chicago area where I live.
