Here is the first page of a ballot for the 2001 Billboard Radio Awards. It's interesting to see the stations in each format... some candidates are not even in that format any longer even though they were thought to be the "best of the best" two decades ago.

If you like this, click on the like button and I'll post more of the ballot, such as PD of the year.

Wow, some things change, others don't, but nobody in 2001 would've thought that WPLJ would be taken over by K-Love and go CCM! Or that KMPS Seattle would drop country to become 94.1 The Sound! (Actually that one was more predictable because Seattle is just not a country market). Also, KTCL was seriously a rock station at one point?

And those "Monday Morning Quarterback" moments are why I posted this. The "who wudda' thought..." moments are very fun.

only 2 DFW stations are on the nominations, KPLX 99.5 The Wolf for Country and KEGL 97.1 The Eagle for Mainstream Rock (nevermind the fact their longtime flagship show lost their host as he died a year ago and recently dealt with firing a member of the show cause he got caught with child porn, and the declining ratings and the fact they picked up Dallas Mavericks radio broadcast rights from KESN 103.3 ESPN Radio)
