Omnia 3fm / Gentner Prisms

Wondering if anybody has tried this combination, if so what was the result and what way would you run them both to be happy together? Recently acquired both.

Other than using the Prisms to keep levels under control at the studio before an STL, I can't see why someone would intentionally install a bunch of noisy VCA's ahead of a digital processor.

Thanks for your useful comment. Ever heard of signature sound?

richmondrod- It is difficult to provide advice or recommendation without projecting, unless you tell us a massive amount about your system and needs. Then it becomes a professional service, for which you should hire someone. Thus, I suggest experimenting on your own and see what you come up with. You'll be fine. Use your ears.

192khz- You didn't ask, but here is my advice to you- You are young, and your life and career are in front of you. Learn from then past, but look forward.

The late Glenn Clark's Texar Audio Prism sounded great in the context of the era, and may be the sound someone wants today. Love it for what it is.

Bob Orban, Mike Dorrough, Glen Clark and Frank Foti have given so much to modern development of broadcast audio processing, building on the groundbreaking work of the CBS Labs team before them. The achievements inspired new developments and products by other dedicated individuals who are also key figures in audio processing. (not meaning to leave anyone out, we know you)

Well if your prisms don’t work out i’d be interested in them.
If you want 70s sound you will find the great sound with prisms. But if you're going to modern music. That's not a very good choice. But If still you interested in that. Go with it. Don't let other people put you down just because of their opinions.
