Casey Kasem

The original American Top-40, with Casey Kasem, was awesome! My classic hits station will replay his show on Sunday mornings. Sad that Casey's gone already

Here's a link to the auction site and the several pages-long listing of all the items that will be auctioned and sold (some already have some bids placed):

It'll be interesting to see how well the auction does. Casey Kasem was very well-known for sure, and most any American who was around in his heyday can easily pick out his voice and remember his countdown shows and his face from various TV appearances. That said, he wasn't quite up there with better-known movie and TV "stars" who were in highly popular movies or TV programs, and some musicians who performed in packed stadiums. Also, Kasem passed away nearly 8 years ago. I'm guessing few younger than 45 or 50 remember him as a "household name" and while I found some of the stuff listed was interesting (I may even bid for a few items) other kit was actually his wife's, some items are generic but aren't personalized to or by Kasem and some of the scripts there are from little-known shows or programs. There is some sports memorabilia from Mohammad Ali, Joe Demagio, Mickey Mantle, Hank Aaron and similar that may fetch a decent amount from sports collectors and there are niche collectors who may have interest in some other items:

Yeah.... yikes. Lots 10-12. The two he wore on that schmaltzy, overrated NBC teen comedy/soap are also there in separate lots. My mom used to make me wear similarly loud sweaters in the late 80s/early 90s when they were popular. It wasn't even a good look then!

Can't exactly say the poor guy had good taste in clothing......

Is there a link to a website for the auction?

Oh, and NEVER play an uptempo GD record going into a GD death dedication!! .....And now, back to the countdown.
I'd gladly pay for a 1:30 video, but thanks to the wonders of the internet, I don't have to! Here's to you Snuggles, wherever you are!

Growing up, that was the one radio show EVERYONE listened to on Sunday. I haven't been able to find the classic AT40 shows locally. Does anyone know a station where I can stream them?

Try looking here, Kat. These AT40 fans know every station that streams the program, and what day and time.

I wouldn't touch anything his Widow is involved with, considering the screw job she pulled on his kids.... where did she stick him in the ground? Somewhere a long way away from his children with no connection to anything he ever did.

SXM plays a bunch of his AT40 shows on the weekends

Only one, 4 times. Some folks have a Twitter chat that accompanies the noon EDT airing
