Resetting the Lamptimer for DST?

What in the Wide, Wide World of Sports is a goin' on with All DST, all the time in Arizona? We could be californicated in the winter by changing from Mountain to Pacific time zones.

The goldminers at Lumberyard 14~Forty (aka KAZG) would be workin' in darkness during morning drive in Nov, Dec & Jan. They'll have to get by with only 52 watts of Pow-Pow-Power until after 8am (or later) when the Lamptimer fires up the 5kw blowtorch. YIKES!

If you care about hearing worn out oldies on Ancient Modulation, let your elected official know you want nothing to do with left coast time. The Goldmine belongs in the mountains... and that means Mountain Daylight Saving time.

Stop by the Buckeye Media Hut and sign our petition. We'll even waive the customary parking fee for the first five signers.

I thought you had courtesy val-ette parking!

This DST thing sounds like it came from a moron in South Florida who has never gotten up in the dark of a winter morning to go to school... and who thinks there is river rafting and submarine races near downtown on the Salt River in the Spring and Fall.

Or better yet thinks there's river rafting on the Ohio River in December

Wouldn't Arizona still be on permanent Mountain Standard/Pacific Daylight?

We will also permanently lose one hour of our lives. There already isn't enough time during the day to get things done.😕 Not in Arizona, but here on the left coast.

Little Marco's "Sunshine Protection Act" (aww, how cute!) does include a specific exception for areas not currently observing DST. But it would also officially rename DST to "standard time". So to avoid confusion between Arizona's standard time and the new "standard time" in other Mountain time zone states, Arizona would need to join Pacific time.

Didn't Lumberyard 1440 have pre-sunrise authorization for 500 watts from 6am to sunrise?

An articles that goes in to detail about year-long DST + its effect on daytimers:

Looks like KAZG won't be affected since Arizona doesn't observe DST. Elsewhere it looks like another blow to Ancient Modulation, losing an hour in the morning during the all important morning drive, but an extra hour in the afternoon. As pointed out though, revenue is higher in the morning so it will be a financial loss when DST becomes permanent

Why are you still listening to the Goldmine on 1440? Comes in a whole lot nicer on 92.7 (or is that 93.3 HD2)?
When I'm in the valley I just can't resist tuning into 1440. Mainly for nostalgic reasons. To this day, I even still miss them when it was KXAM around 1980 playing Dance Top 40. They had huge ratings back then from all the Disco 92 (KXTC) disenfranchised listeners looking for dance tunes.

Very interesting.
No mention of 1974 though.

Yes indeedy...for students driving Chev-ettes.

Whoa...being a moron is a prerequisite for the Oval Office, and we've had our share over the años. No river rafting or submarine races alongside the Lumberyard, but do-gooders occasionally race plastic ducks in the canal. It's a Scottsdale thing.

MDT for me...and the Nurse!

True dat. Gumpdusky never used it as their Gates xmttr (model # p.o.s.) couldn't go that low. The Nautel replacement can do any power setting that's programmed. Will Mother Hubbard adjust the KAZG Lamptimer for PSSA that goes past 8am in the winter? Or will she give the Valley its first all digital Ancient Modulation station? (Hubbard has already done it on the right coast). Don't worry...the Middle Eastern Men of the Media will be the last to know!

Aaah! The infamous media hut, isn't that in cosmopolitan Buckeye " The Paris of Arizona"? Great location. At least I know where to go now for all hearing, and all knowing of the latest breaking news of the ups and downs in valley media.

BTW, maybe the "old gringo" could put a Dr. Akbar dictionary on this site for the newbies.

I have found it stays dark here in SW Florida in the morning regardless of what time we are using

At my house in NH sunrise is 6:56 AM, where here in Fort Myers it is 7:37 AM... so when I leave for my weekly Friday morning old man breakfast club thing, I will be pulling out of the garage before sunrise.

Sunset in NH tomorrow 6:55PM, Fort Myers 7:38 PM

BTW it is 78 degrees as I type this at 20:47

In my younger days I spent many nights watching the submarine races at Revere Beach

C'mon, man...this is easy.

The Gremlin only has an Ancient Modulation receiver.

Damn...there goes another Media Hut secret! I'll have Nurse Jeff contact Cyber Ninjas and we'll get to the bottom of this.
Secret? Unpossible. Nurse Jeff keeps sneaking around the back of the Media Hut, propagating tales of woe.

Said something about green beer yesterday. I find that...disturbing. :alien: 🇮🇪
