Townsquare on TuneIn

Last night, I fired up my Roku and found a Townsquare Media station lurking in my local radio list. I checked other Townsquare markets and found its stations showing up in their listings, too. The three or four Townsquare stations I tried worked, and all but one or two had updated logos. However, when I tried running them on the TuneIn website and the iOS app, I got messages that those stations were unavailable. The local station was missing from both, too.

This is similar to the pattern the Cumulus and iHeart stations showed when they returned to TuneIn. I don’t know if this means Townsquare is finally warming to TuneIn, or if this is a platform specific deal. Townsquare is the only large operator missing from smart TV's, and TuneIn has done platform specific deals in the past.

So is Audacy

In addition, iHeartRadio seemingly doesn't work anymore on PlayStation (No audio), TuneIn no longer has an app on Xbox (Dunno if they even had an app for PlayStation or not) & (As mentioned) Audacy doesn't have an Xbox app (I doubt they even have a PlayStation app either) & their presence outside of mobile devices & tablets is VERY limited

Not good as the world of podcasting is leaning more & more towards VIDEO content

So is Audacy

Audacy has its own Roku app. Not that it might not still be on TuneIn for some platforms, but it’s definitely not on it for Roku, iOS, and Windows. Audacy is also integrated with Alexa. I've noticed Townsquare stations now seem to air on TuneIn for Alexa instead of relying on their own skills. That still doesn’t seem to be the case for Windows and iOS, though. Townsquare also doesn't seem to be Siri integrated yet.

I don’t have any of the gaming consoles you mention. You almost certainly know more about them than I do. I know I can get the Audacy stations on every platform I regularly use, though I do still miss having them available on TuneIn. TuneIn is just easier to use in the car, and I still have one car that’s a 2009 model and doesn't have any natural phone interface.
