Geraldo Rivera ending show on WTAM

Could WTAM give the 9am hour back to Glenn Beck or keep that hour local?

The 9a hour originally was given to Mike Trivisonno and Bob Frantz as "The Spew", with John Lanigan eventually replacing Frantz, and after Lanigan bailed mid-show in 2018, the slot would be given to Geraldo.

Basically, the spot was helmed by a "big gun" (Triv, Lanigan, Geraldo) for it to be taken from Beck.

The only local personality that could be pegged for the hour slot, that has "big gun" gravitas may by Jimmy Malone, coming down the hall from 1350 The Gambler, but he politically doesn't mesh with the rest of the WTAM lineup (not by a long shot)

My guess is Beck gets his hour back.

I was also thinking of the Maloner. An hour of general talk, knuckleheads in the news, etc would be OK. By the way, Greg Brinda doesn't politically mesh with the rest of the WTAM lineup either.

TBH, I don't see any way that Jimmy would want to associate himself with the conservative talk format. Plus he easily could retire now if he wanted to.

I only listened for a few minutes this morning. I turned it off when he put his wife on. Was there any announcement on who will be replacing him?

File this into the “I legitimately did not expect to see” folder. The Maloner is an obvious mismatch against the rest of the conservative talk format as currently constituted.

I guess this means that WARF loses their lone “local” show and becomes even more of an embarrassing legal fiction than ever before.

It doesn't matter. It's only one hour a day. I doubt this will be a long-term gig. WTAM is a talk and sports station. Yes, there are conservative talkers, but not exclusively like on a Salem station such as WHK.

It’s basically a victory lap gig for Jimmy. I have no problem with that whatsoever.

Well, there you have it.

Other than iHeart having the Maloner already in their back pocket, he probably would have.

Congratulations on your prediction coming true! Oh wait a second, my Gray's Sports Almanac is missing... ;)
