WAMI Opp on the move again?

When I saw the title thread, I thought you were talking about WAMI Miami.

It's high time the FCC takes a hard look at these various radio frequency chess players. Some of these applications appear to be filed by people who simply have far too much time on their hands.

I am Chris Johnson and owner of WAMI am. If you have any questions about my integrity you should be man enough to call me and state your problem. I have been in broadcasting for over 50 years and have a excellent reputation with fellow broadcasters across the state and with the ABA, the SBE and the FCC. As far as too much time on my hands, I work 12 to 14 hours a day 6 days a week. The people with too much time on there hands are the busy bodies typing this crap on the web that they don't know anything about. I have heard all I wish to hear and said all I wish to say other than mind your own business.

I wholeheartedly agree, Chris. Some discussion on here is pure speculation and comment with no factual knowledge and from people who don't bother to contact the stations for information.

I assumed this was simply more shenanigans from Reynolds Communications. If that's not the case, then I apologize.

We have been on the "other end" of spectrum speculators (not Reynolds) who targeted our locally owned small town FM station, for a major market move-in. SomeRadioGuy knows to whom I am referring, but it doesn't matter. The buyer made a down payment, and stopped paying when the move-in scheme didn't play out the way he wanted. In addition to the mid 6 figure debt owed to me...$70 grand in legal fees, just on my end. Over $40K in unpaid rent on the transmitter site. The once beloved local radio station ended up being deleted. I still have not figured out how the charletans in question made the allocation disappear, but they got what they wanted, and for pennies on the dollar. This is only one part of the story, and I've only hit the high points. That's why multiple move-in schemes, complex daisy chain FM moves, "paper" stations that don't exist, other than to get in the way, raise my shackles a bit. These characters never intended to pay me in full, and that became clear very quickly.

I would never wish what happened to me on Chris from WAMI, or RDP Dan from Selma, or any other legit station owner/operator.
