KJZZ #1 Newstalker

I don't know what good it does to advertise on the #1 biller when IMHO only inbred idiots listen!!!! I quit listening to them when Ted Simon left.
Businesses would continue to advertise as long as the station does not experience any widespread controversy like the Rush Limbaugh/Sandra Fluke debacle or some particular commentaries from Tucker Carlson.

Major national advertisers don't want to be adjacent to "controversial programming." So if they're taking sides on the election, the virus, or other culture war issues, they won't advertise. But since the Fluke incident, there is a whole group of advertisers, including the My Pillow guy, who have filled in the void.

"Inbred idiots" is not a Nielsen stratification variable, so we will never know if what you say is factual.

I gave my opinion not expressing fact and you know that. But if I owned a business I would not want to be identified with advertising on the likes of KTAR of definitely not KFYI. I don't like wasting money and I would not want their listeners as customers/clients. My advertising dollars would be better spent elsewhere.

You obviously required a ":ROFLMAO: " icon to follow my post.

Advertisers look for results at the cash register. They are not particularly concerned with the beliefs, faiths, religions or politics of customers.

I still am not convinced that if I was an advertiser I could not do better putting my advertising dollars elsewhere. 1) I would not be wasting money on people who do not know fact from fiction (IMHO). 2) I would have clients/customers who can conduct a reasonable conversation (IMHO) and I would therefore love doing business with them. 3) By implementing those 2 steps my life would be much more pleasant, enjoyable, and satisfying ie, if I were a business owner spending advertising dollars.

One detail we're not privy to is where the most dollars are spent. I would guess they're spent during the morning news, and not during the potentially controversial talk programming.

In the case of talkers with strong news blocks, I think you are absolutely right. And the reason why they spend on a news staff instead of just a talk host is due to that revenue producing block.

Yet some high-revenue stations like KFI have traditional talk hosts on in the morning, so some of this has to be the perception of the station in the market. WSB can have conservative hosts, but it has a century of WSB tradition. Philly's 1-A 50 kw clear channel station does not have that working for it.
