Post your latest DX

The other night I was hanging out on one of the South Florida SDRs and heard WRZN and no sign of WGN. WGN usually comes in late at night, but not this time.
Anyone know what happened to the Key West SDR? It hasn't been around for awhile.
No idea on that, it was run by Trans World Radio, presumably so they could monitor the 800 signal over Cuba.

Its a glitch. The day we see a 224 MHz MUF is the day when all of the world power grids go kaboom.
The power grids didn't go kaboom on July 6th, 2004! And the MUF was above 222 mhz in that event on the east coast. Real 222mhz skip was being reported along with analog 13, 12, and other high VHF channels. Someone in upstate NY saw WLOX Biloxi MS on 13.
We came close a few times this past season to having DT decodes on ch 7 in a couple of events (also on the east coast). Bouncing signals on the boxes but no PSIP.

In unrelated news, my big Idaho trip begins tomorrow or Thursday (depending on when I get my final financial aid refund from the university). Can't wait, will be a lot of fun.

A little late with this one....

Saturday morning (4/2), tentative WREY from St. Paul, MN.630khz, 3kw day, 2,4kw night. Directional to the north and northwest.

I was hearing Spanish on 630khz, and this is the only Spanish language station I could find that was broadcasting fulltime on this channel. Signal was fair-good and on top of the 630 for more than ten minut4s. No trace of CFCO or anything else identifiable on the channel. No positive ID, so I have to consider this as an educated guess. I didn't hazr any strong Spanish signals from 630 when I was in Florisa and the Southeast earlier this year. So....at least for now, that would seem to rrule out Cuba.

Bottom line is I'm pretty comfortable in guessing WRE?Y, although I have to stop just short of being certain.

630 in the Twin Citiess w2as the longtime home of KDWB. 5KW DAYS, 500 watts nights with a pretty tight pattern beamed west 24/7. I'm guesing the idea was to protect the now-defunct CKRC in Winnipeg, alomg with perhaps CFCO and KXOK. The northwest orientation to the WREY pattern is a little surprising to me, despite CKRC being off. I've never heard the Twin Cities here, so I'm wondering if WREY might have been on STA, or non-directional for some other reason.

WUNO San Juan, Puerto Rico might be another possibility. I know they were heard in the Chicago area in the past, however not by me.

That definitely crossed my mind. The signal was stronger than I would have expected from Puerto Rico. That said, just about anything is possible in DX ! I still think it was WREY, but who knows.

New catch. 1630 KKGM Fort Worth, TX. 3:40AM this morning CDT. Weak but alone (KCJJ off?) "Black Info Network" with news. Distance 808 miles. Radio was the C. Crane Skywave. In general, poor conditions this morning, likely Auroral. so instead of being off, perhaps KCJJ simply couldn't make the hop, and thus allowing KKGM in.

DFW, Texas

Not much time for DX the past month, and generally poor conditions when listening. Here are a few new stations logged:

1250 KFOG AR Little Rock 3/25 2200 Mention of Little Rock, Urban AC // stream. Very poor signal.
1340 KGHM OK Midwest City 4/6 2200 OKC Dodgers vs. Albuquerque Isotopes baseball. TOH ID "The Game".
1390 WNLA MS Indianola 4/7 2000 "WNLA 1390 AM and 95.3 FM". Weather for Indianola and The Delta. Fair, faded up to the top.
1420 XEEW Tama Matamoros 3/7 2042 SS music // stream, weak fading in and out.
1550 KDCC KS Dodge City 3/18 2300 Dodge City ads, fair on top of channel.

1550 KDCC KS Dodge City 3/18 2300 Dodge City ads,
.....I'd be able to positively ID that one, if one of those ads happened to be for "Miss Kitty's Longbranch Saloon". Especially if voiced by a guy named Festus.

Chester fills in on Festus' vacations and sick days.

Update: KCJJ was back in this morning before dawn as per usual. Whatever was going on Thursday morning was apparently a one off. I'm glad I got in on it.

I think you need a new keyboard!

Congrats, I've heard WSOY before, but not in a long time.

Just had a false alarm/dud:
Station on 101.3 playing CCM this morning. I had also received an email alert about a tropo opening from Wyoming into Kansas. But, it just ended up being my semi-local KOZY Bridgeport (78 miles), who apparently now switches from Top-40 to CCM on Sunday mornings for a few hours. (Confirmed by local ads and stream match). Sadly, no tropo event here.

My local KBME 790 was off the air just after midnight last night, first time I've noted this. I didn't have a lot of time to take advantage, but caught 2 new ones:

790 Radio Reloj, Cuba (2 xmtrs) 4/17/22 0036, very strong and dominating w/usual news format
790 WMC, TN, Memphis 4/17/22 0039 fair in Reloj null w/ads, ID as "790 The Bet" and into sports talk

As of 845pm CDT tonight (4/17), KBME is running an open carrier. Radio Reloj is clearly audible underneath.
