What's going on with the KJR trimulcast?

The last I heard, KJR was on 950, 93.3, and 1090, 95.7 HD2, (so more like quadruple-cast, but is that even a thing? LOL), and I've had someone in the Seattle area tell me that they heard KJR on air saying that they was going to ditch the 950 frequency. So, what is even happening up there in the Emerald City?

Also, since iHeart also owns 1300 and 1590, which simulcasts each other, would they take one of those frequencies and flip it to KJR, or would they try to keep 1090?
P.S. I was following the KUBE thread for updates on KJR before it was locked up by the moderators for being too political, so can we not over politicize this one? Thanks, Z.

1090 runs a separate programming feed which is branded as "1090 KJR" with national programming. They are currently still in the process of moving the 950 audience over to 93.3, which takes time.

1300 and 1590 are owned by Salem.
 
Did iHeart change their mind about turning 1090 into Conservative Talk? The "KJR" branding of 1090 is new. I don't think that would have been done if they were still preparing it to be become "The Patriot".
 
It's not uncommon to see a national feed on AM, with local shows on FM. I mean look at 1600 KEPN and 104.3 KKFN, for example! So maybe KJR's national feed will sit at 1090, and we'll see a more local front on 93.3?

So what happens to 950? Is this where "The Patriot" ends up, or possibly selling it off, which I don't think they would do.

The KJR 1090 branding has been there for a while.

“Quadcast.” And yes, there have been a few instances of it, including the Y107 signals in/around NYC in the late 90s/early 2K.

1090 already changed calls to KPTR, so there’s already a likely hint of what’s going on there. 950 will become just a syndicated pass thru for Fox Sports, while 93.3 stays mostly local/in-house.

Thanks for the info, but I must've missed that a month ago. So, this lines up with what I was suspecting.
 
The Patriot.... the now defunct conservative talker on 1640 was "The Patriot!" The announcements were brash sounding, too. That format lasted there maybe three years.
 
Failing in the X-band is not shocking or shameful. If the AM band is a gutted old rust belt city many moons from it's better days, then everything above 1100 on the dial is the bad part of that town where you don't drive at night, and above 1600 is the part of town where you don't even stop at the red lights.
 
I wasn’t alive in the “golden age” of AM, but I can’t really name any legendary radio stations that were much higher than 1300 on the radio dial. Some of the more modern AM radios may be decent at locking in some of these x-band stations, but picking up anything in this band is impossible on many radios.
