Here's it's FCC information.
I've never heard it on the air in the 3 years I've lived here in Kansas City, not too far from the translator's transmitter. Think maybe I was very close to it a couple times and picked up the translator, but it might have been running one of those legal part 15 transmitters judging by how far out from the site it reached, once it had programming but most of the time it was dead air. Similar is happening with K237GQ 95.3, owned by the same network. But 95.3 is used up in my area by an LPFM so can't check on that one easily. Here is 95.3's FCC info.

Just wondering if anyone knows why these 2 FM translators are no priority and operating with barely any power apparently? CRN is doing fine with all their AM signals and the 92.9 translator in the KC metro. It's just these 2 (93.7 and 95.3) that are plagued with issues.

I presume 890 KMVG (especially) and 1190 KDMR are well received at your location, even though the translators are being goofy?

@R.D.P. Dan, Agreed 100%

I have this one @SomeRadioGuy. Why don't you call the stations, at the phone number provided on those links and see what's going on.

I actually happen to know the guy in charge of radio operations at The Catholic Radio Network, Ken Bellinger... traded many an email and phone call with him when they were issues at KCRN 1120 or KRCN 1060, both of which I could hear from my location. KCRN 1120 suffered from some issues after the new build and their people couldnt monitor it fropm their location near Pueblo and I dont beleive they had very good internet connectivity out there.

How did I initially get ahold of Ken? I randomly called up the radio network office, said I wanted to speak to the person in charge of the radio stations and.. viola. Ken was very pleasant to talk to and appreciative to hear form me whenever i noticed an issue with his stations.

and ive state this at least once or twice before to @AnyHuman when he's brought up issues with these Catholic stations.. ive specifically told him .. theyre good people, call them. I've told him this numerous times about other stations.

But hed rather hear himself talk and speculate so he can seem like an expert and point out a stations foibles and failures.

Now come to think of it, I've NEVER one single post form AnyHuman thats POSITIVE, saying anything good about stations or complimenting them... its always an FCC action related to a CP, a sale or posting about their mistakes.

Same here! 1060 KRCN is mostly like a local here in Cheyenne during the day, but is prone to static more often. I can hear 1120 KCRN during the day, but it's generally a fringe signal except around sunrise/sunset, then it booms in.

That's always a good strategy, when you can get a hold of them.

An interesting thing about this website is that it allows you to post your credentials, but it's not an explicit requirement for joining. Therefore, I have to give everybody the "benefit of the doubt" when it comes to their opinions. Of course, I'm a lot more likely to trust your opinion over Any H's because you have been on the engineering side, but sometimes it's okay to vent on here. You know, AnyH's posts sometimes reminds me of FM Listener in 2019, constantly complaining about Denver's radio stations having bad audio. Except FML was like 100 times more picky, and I've never really understood how he could notice a -0.5 dbu difference between the left and right audio carriers. However, that's his prerogative, I suppose, if he's got the right equipment and expertise.

And im not saying AnyHuman shouldnt post .. nor do you have to be an expert.. but he talks about some of the same stuff over and over and doesnt take anyones advice

It's not that hard if you use headphones, I can notice one in KPRS audio, right side's louder.

As for Catholic Radio Network, I have emailed them and they don't have a local engineer apparently. But I can call them sometime, thanks for the advice.

I'll have to try that out sometime.

That's odd for a religious network, but not surprising in today's environment.

Absolutely! Hopefully I wasn't sounding too much like a narc.
