March 2022 Bay Area Radio PPM Ratings

Here are the March 2022 San Francisco Radio PPM Ratings:

And the March 2022 San Jose Radio PPM Ratings:

Any thoughts or observations?

Wow, KRTY had a huge month in both markets 6+!
Remember, again, that what you see in the SF book includes San Jose, so the San Francisco book includes the San Jose listeners.

90% of the 25-54 AQH listeners of KRTY are in the San Jose embedded market

Looking at the KBAY numbers, it really looks like they should have chosen mix 106.5 instead for country.

Indeed, it would be interesting to see how KBAY and KEZR compared in A25-54 or A25-44 over the past several months.

Of those two, perhaps KEZR's cash flow was stronger. Another advantage of picking 94.5 for country over 106.5 is the fact 94.5 is not susceptible to co-channel interference from KUDL.

It is also possible synergies may exist - both from an operating expense and sales standpoint - between KEZR and suburban signals with very similar programming (such as KKIQ) that Alpha Media wished to preserve. This is merely conjecture on my part.

That wouldn't be a reason. KUDL's stick is east of Sacramento, 80+ miles away, with two major mountains in between. I know from first-hand experience: the only places the two signals interfere a bit is in a few tiny sections of the North Bay.

I've heard 106.5 from Sacramento wipe out KEZR near Pleasanton on more than one occasion. Granted, KEZR reception in that neck of the woods isn't that good to begin with.

Yeah, there's quite a few places in the Livermore valley that have issues with 106.5. Not that 94.5 is all that great, but it's totally listenable in a car.

Guess I stand corrected. The Livermore Valley was the one place I hadn't listened to 106.5. Everywhere else in the Bay Area where I've driven, KEZR came in without the Sacto station interfering, except in Marin on Highway 101's downhill sides driving north, or on I-80 north of Richmond.
