WSB PD Leaving

The trades are reporting that WSB radio PD Drew Anderssen is leaving to become Brand Manager at Audacy's KRLD (Newsradio 1080) and Texas State Network in Dallas.

I don't know whether he's leaving for what he feels is a promotion in terms of money and responsibility, or whether any other reason was involved in his decision. I do know that things have been really tight at Cox under Apollo ownership (and of course the loss of billings during COVID).

IMHO the station has sounded excellent over his tenure.

IMHO after the departure of Boortz the station has gone from consistent to schizophrenic. There are at least 5 different station sounds during the weekdays. KRLD is famous for its coverage of a great American tragedy - WSB should have him well prepared.

KRLD may be famous for its coverage of a great American tragedy, but they don't have anywhere near the ratings of WSB. In the public P6+ ratings, KRLD is #15. And there are reasons for that, including being an AM station with not even an FM translator, that are out of the PD's control.
