Kent Dana has died

Kent Dana has died. He was 80.

He developed an infection after breaking his hip in January, according to his son Joe, and his condition deteriorated after several weeks in the hospital.

A nice tribute from KPNX:

"We all know that TV newsrooms are changing but some things never, ever change,
the ability to know a good story and to tell a good story." Unfortunately, far too
many have forgotten Kent's words....
I would settle for a "complete story".

Not sure why the his last 5 years as a news anchor on CBS 5 wasn't mentioned in the article, but R.I.P. to a Valley TV legend.

Dang Kent Dana is one of three family members who worked in Phoenix TV. The other one was Joe Dana the one who was on TV in the 1950's and the Joe Dana who is currently with KPNX-TV 12 today.

I had forgotten about Kent's dad, Joe Dana. A true TV dynasty. I can't think of anything close to that, anywhere in local TV news.
