Kent Dana has died. He was 80.

Kent Dana, the beloved TV news anchor who worked at channels 12, 10 and 5 in Phoenix, has died. Dana was known for his humor and professionalism.

He developed an infection after breaking his hip in January, according to his son Joe, and his condition deteriorated after several weeks in the hospital.

Well, it was done by his son, who is at KPNX. Rest assured, KPHO/KTVK didn't mention his 25 years at KPNX either.

Dang Kent Dana is one of three family members who worked in Phoenix TV. The other one was Joe Dana the one who was on TV in the 1950's and the Joe Dana who is currently with KPNX-TV 12 today.

I had forgotten about Kent's dad, Joe Dana. A true TV dynasty. I can't think of anything close to that, anywhere in local TV news.
