About time, after 28 years on DirecTV.
Still going to have to pay for it though. May as well get Hulu where you can watch NFL RedZone 🙄

Note the article states that DirecTV is interested in retaining “venue rights” which might be a separate deal from Apple marketing to individual subscribers. And with that, DIRECTV just lost hundreds of thousands of bar/restaurant subscriptions...
They'll have to work something out with DirecTV even if Apple TV is the official provider. They have close to 100% of the sports bar market, while each local internet provider will have to support 20-50 (or more) TVs per bar, with multiple HDTV feeds to handle Apple TV.And with that, DIRECTV just lost hundreds of thousands of bar/restaurant subscriptions...
How do sports bars handle rain fade. Even a few minutes down would cause havoc. They'll have to work something out with DirecTV even if Apple TV is the official provider. The NFL and DirecTV will make it happen. They have no choice.
We don't generally have that problem in AZ, but when it does happen, you wait until it stops. That was one reason (besides the high cost) I dumped DirecTV a couple years ago. It would go out with almost every monsoon storm, sometimes for an hour or two at a time. How do sports bars handle rain fade. Even a few minutes down would cause havoc.
I would have that issue with high top thunderstorms. It might not be raining but the cloud would still block the satellite for an hour.We don't generally have that problem in AZ, but when it does happen, you wait until it stops.
