BIG WECK is BIG

Explain this.....see attached

Buddy, You dont owe anyone any proof.. people who trash you here are jealous. Tom is a pretty smart guy on your team......you dont need to defend yourself or post on here. I think youre better off not commenting here, for fear of just adding more fuel to the bitter fire.

Not sure what fuel I am adding to the fire. I put some stats up I received. Is that not what this board is about? Sharing info and opinions?

You will have someone come on here and debate you. You dont owe anyone here anything.... the station sounds good, youre doing good.. and with Tom on board, it'll get better....and you probably spend too much time on here.

I appreciate the advice, but I don’t really need any. I’ve got it covered. Trust me.

I do think it is very cool you are in Alaska. A place I’ve always wanted to go. Do you see the northern lights where you are ?

Yup, I do.. but not quite as much as others.

I'm the sole full time employee here. Ask Tom about me... he and I are FB friends and have had a few discussions on radio, DXing and etc

That is interesting data. Is that based on raw, unweighted preliminary data?

You might check whether your Nielsen contract allows specific data. My read is that, other than 12+ shares, in any specific demo a ranker can not include actual share, rating, AQH persons or Cume. The exception is when just two or three stations are compared, such as "in 25-44 men, WZZZ got a 2.7, comparing unfavorably to WAAA with a 5.6 and WBBB with a 4.3".

Paul, you're a long way from South Carolina. Hope all there in Alaska agrees with you.

It does. i think this is the type of place i was meant to be in.... dxing is great and im doing some fun amazing things with the radio station

That’s a great report card for your station. I don’t recall the numbers ever being that high. You’re obviously doing the right things. I enjoy the station because Big WECK has the best of the oldies and interesting local information between. You probably have many other Canadian listeners too. Hoping you will give St. Catherines a shout out.

Imagine that a local O&O AM station on the rise. Now tell me why something can't be done with 1520...and don't give me they don't want to take audience away from WBEN. Let the two stations challenge each other and get better!

Well, it's certainly an indication of why they DON'T want to let KB go to a competitor.

Its too expensive to operate.. the power bill alone is probably $10 grand a month for the 1520 transmitter compared to less than $1000 for the 1230 transmitter. The FM translators for 1230 alone would cost maybe $200 a month in electricity.

With 1520, your rates would be higher and so would music licensing.
