107.9 Sacramento

Can they get KDND call letters back again?
I remember someone earlier saying they should be available. They are still reserved by the previous owner, Entercom, but that seems to be an administrative oversight.

Now whether they can use (or would want to use) “the End” moniker for a Hot AC/CHR format is a different story.

Bringing "KDND - The End" back could backfire, as there was a cloud over the brand, that lead to (then) Entercom abandoning the brand and choosing to offload the frequency. In any event, doesn't Audacy still own the intellectual property, in the market?
They didn’t abandon the brand. It’s still 106.5 the End under Audacy. So the name is not available for iHeart.

They could be a thorn in the side of The End simply by going CHR and saying 1079 is back. They could do Hot AC and add Seacrest.

It wouldn't surprise me if iHeart desires a clearance for the Jubal Show in Sacramento.

Daily format stunt on a frequency no one is listening to. How original.

What's next?

Launch Friday at 5pm?

With 5,000 songs in a row?

Oh and with a promo talking about how "you told us what you wanted" and "we designed this station for you Sacramento." "Like nothing heard before" as they launch a cookie cutter format that's already in the market.

One has to hope they have bigger plans to launch correctly but when is the last time a radio station launched with any fanfare?

How original, Cinco De Mayo on May 5th 2022 Absolutely Awe inspiring programming Indeed! Now all they need is their HD-2 with a simulcast of 650 KSTE to have the greatest new sensation in Sacramento radio history. I guess its better than the last few years of the dead air that Entercom gave the county by turning in the license as a result of their idiot programming geniuses then, that killed an innocent woman and destroyed a loving family. All for a stupid video game. Absolutely genius idea. Not!!!!!

I think 107.9 will go Country. That format on a full signal would be complementary to the company's other formats in town and might help it to better compete against Bonneville.

Classic Hits might be a little too close for comfort to The Breeze.

The breeze is way too soft for a lot of my friends and myself, and the eagle is too hard. KCCL Plays way to many 80s. Whats Left????

Eagle is too hard? LOL

A 54 year old graduated high school in 1983. You're right KCCL plays too many 80s. They should probably start playing 90s.

But I'm not the target for any of these stations on my early 60s so they don't care about my opinion anyway.
