Televisa/UNIVISION buys Pantaya

Very smart of Pantaya to sale to them. Televisa/Univision would have ran them out of business either way.
Note that a principal investor of Pantaya is also a principal of Univision/Televisa. This is a redistribution of assets with overlapping ownership.

"Pantaya" is a "cute" spelling of "pantalla" which means "screen" as in TV screen or Movie screen.

I will consider subscribing to the paid version once they have the rights to all of Televisas’ shows. Chespirito is a must have. Even though the VIX app is still very buggy. It is hard to scroll down to different channels on Apple TV. And the streaming quality is not very good. VIX seems to copy the PLUTOTV formats. But Pluto runs much smoother and the video quality is much better.
