Yacht Rock 2022?

It will be interesting to see if SiriusXM launches Yacht Rock on a main channel this summer. In years past, they've blown up the Love channel (channel 70) for the summer to make room for Yacht but after last year they moved Siriusly Sinatra to channel 70 and bumped the 50's and 60's up to channels 72 and 73 respectively. Love hasn't been on a main channel since. I know years ago they blew up the 40's channel (channel 71) for a 3-month run of Billy Joel so if they decide to bring back Yacht for the summertime my prediction is that it'll be on 40's Junction. We shall see.

During that big channel shuffle, they renamed Yacht Rock Radio to Yacht Rock 311. That seems to indicate it will stay on channel 311. (Or channel 255 according to my car's dashboard display, because it only uses an 8-bit value to store the channel number!)

I thought it was very cool the first summer or two especially out on the water. By the time the third summer rolled around it had lost its luster for me. It's an interesting concept but way too repetitive for my taste. That said, my car only goes up to about channel 200 so if they bring it back this year I'll definitely punch it up at least a couple of times to hear if they've tweaked it at all.

I bet your car was made before the Sirius/XM merger, where Sirius's highest number was 184 at the time. Even so, they had to realize that Satellite would amount to more than 255 channels at some point, right? LOL.

I've heard that listeners write in to comment about Yacht Rock. I read that when Sirius XM began to add a few songs to the channel, people said no. Yacht Rock has a specific playlist and, even if it is the same 500 songs, that's what people like. My car gets 311 so I hear it year 'round.

As in years past, will Sirius XM put Yacht Rock on a lower channel so everyone can listen, from Memorial Day Weekend to Labor Day? I think they should. But nearly all the songs are 40 to 50 years old, so maybe Sirius XM will think it's starting to appeal to an older audience and doesn't deserve a lower channel number anymore?

(Using my Thurston Howell III voice...) Pass me the frozen margarita pitcher, Lovey. And let's cruise to Santa Catalina Island for dinner, OK?

Yacht Rock is currently being simulcast on Sirius and XM channels 14. My Sirius radio in my Ford does not get the 300s. My wife's XM 2.0 radio in her car does. KIIS is gone from the satellite and app. Z-100 is gone from the app. Both can be found on the iheart radio app. They've also been using channels 104 & 105 for temporary channels. Hopefully Billy Joel on one of those two.

Interesting developments.... I checked the SiriusXM app this morning and noticed that the logos for KIIS and Z100 have been replaced by a generic logo. Changes afoot?
SXM has reclaimed those two channels from iHeart. No permanent plans for either channel have been announced.

Starting to wonder what will come to 14 permanently as well, especially with Yacht Rock's run scheduled in early September (I've seen both Labor Day and Sept. 8, that following Thursday, on SiriusXM's site). Any chance that Love comes back from online-only?
Yacht Rock usually goes back to just being on 311 after Labor Day, although last year it stayed on 70 until the end of September. I have no doubt we'll start hearing the "Yacht Rock 311" liners as opposed to "Yacht Rock Radio" in late August as a subtle nod to 311 being the place to keep hearing Yacht Rock all year.
