Looking for Carol Doda NYC Radio Interview

Greetings All!

I am trying to find an NYC radio interview with the famous topless dancer, CAROL DODA. I don't know the station but I know it was a NY station and occurred around December 5th of 1966. I tried WFMU, WNYC and Pacifica Radio Archives, Archive.Org....nothing. Waiting to hear from WBAI. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Would be great to even know the station call letters/name to begin....

Many thanks,

Evyfeline

Looks like she passed away in 2015. Wondering if you can possibly find any of her surviving family, and perhaps they have a box of keepsakes and mementos and might either know some history or even have some materials that might be helpful to you? It appears there are a number of stories and videos of her interviews to be found by doing a quick Google search, including stories about interviews she did in the mid-60s. Any of those stories or news items contain anything helpful to you?

Hi Mikey,

Have done it all. Nothing. This is actually for a documentary I'm working on about her life. Considering the subject matter would have been rather risque, it had to be a more liberal station that interviewed her. Forgot to mention, she discussed the "topless movement"in the interview.

Woah Carol Doda she is more associated with KGSC San Jose.

Hi Y2K,

Yes. Unfortunately, that archive was taken over by KTVU FOX 2 back in 2015. Most of the older archive was thrown away in the 90s and some of it rescued and given to SFSU Bay Archive. Already checked. All those Carol Doda Channel 36 promos are either gone or in the bowels of KTVU somewhere with no one to care for them.

Had no idea Carol Doda was in NYC at one point.
