KJWL 105.5 Classic Hits moves to 99.3

After investing all of this time in developing a listener base on 105.5 for KJWL why move it? Park KYNO on 99.3. I still don't understand why they moved KJWL to 105.5 in the first place. Then again, some KJWL listeners won't mind KYNO to much and listen long enough to find out about to move, but they'll add KYNO to their rotation of stations.
I know I'd listen to KYNO more on FM, the AM radios in Freightliners SUCK!

KWYE 101.1, KBOS 94.9, KSEQ 97.1, KHTN 104.7 and from Visalia KCRZ 104.9. KSOF 98.9 can be considered AC/CHR which plays new and older AC hits. Some stations lean more towards Hip Hop and some lean more towards pop hits like Lady Gaga, Marooon 5 and Katy Perry.

KHTN and one I didn't mention AC KABX 97.5 along with 99.9 KCIV have strong signals in Fresno, don't go by the FCC filed coverage maps, their HAAT at there high sea level height and power makes them line of sight, as far as format for 105.5, yes you're probably right about KYNO unless they add more 70s, my other thought would be 90s and 00s format, since KJWL is 70s and 80s.

Not going by the FCC maps, I rely more on Longly-Rice. While KCRZ, KHTN and KABX get into Fresno, they neither target no compete in Fresno. KABX targets Merced, KHTN targets Merced and to a lesser extent, Modesto and KCRZ is primarily Visalia. Can you hear them well in a Car in Fresno, yes. But, is the average listener in Fresno listening to these stations?
Also, a 60's 70's targeted station is monetarily weaker than CHR.

I don't think the owner of KYNO uses research as many of the songs are weak.
 
Here's Momentum's maps from their website. KCRZ has amazing coverage for a directional Class A.

AM radios in trucks suck PERIOD! As I turn the AC, there is noise going thru the AM especially when the signal gets weaker. I'm sure the AC blower switch has a poor electrical ground on it.

Classic Hits KJWL 99.3 will simulcast on 105.5 til July 1, then 105.5 will have a new format, KYNO would be nice to hear on FM, as long as the new format is in English and Not News-talk or Sports, we have enough of those stations.

A JFRC clone would fill the ‘70’s gap between KYNO and KJWL. Split the pie one more time? John would need Bobby O to nail the imaging though.

There’s always a MOD clone. Bobby O does the liners in Palm Springs and makes it work.

Not holding my breath on anything of value to baby boomers going to 105.5. Hope I’m wrong.
 
John doesn’t seem to be concerned about the media buyers when you consider all that he has put into KYNO.

Anyone know if he had a non-compete when he broke with Chris? Another try at FM sports? Nooo.

Still, there are some nicely successful over-60 formats run by local owners who sell to retailers who don't care about ages and the like. There is plenty of business at that level, particularly in medium and smaller markets where the bulk of revenue is local direct.
