100% simulcasts can elect single line reporting where two or more sources are combined. There can be a few hours a month for non-simulcasts, such as sports events where a station can't stream, but otherwise the simulcast has to be total.Interesting, does the WFNZ-FM rating reflect AM and FM? If so wow!
It's been trending down for several years as its traditional target demos have been siphoned off, first by urban/rhythmic formats, and more recently by country. It's still an advertiser-friendly format, though, and there's nothing else for a CHR to do but hope a transcendent superstar or, better, a few superstars come along to bring listeners back to mainstream pop.WLNK better do something quick. The CHR format appears to be in a real slump!
What happened to WSOC-FM? After decades at the top they have really gone down.
AC, Adult Hits, Classic Hits, Hot AC, etc. are all the same format. It's adult top 40. The name doesn't really matter to me.I’m still trying to figure out how WKQC is considered AC, but they’re doing shockingly well.
Ahh John Reynolds, I could say something but I won't.John Reynolds became PD at the beginning of 2021. They were #1 in the fall of 2020. They were losing to WKKT nearly all of last year, and still are.
From the looks of it then WFNZ doing a simulcast on 92.7 wasn't a good idea, at least so far. They had numbers like that on AM and now they have relegated "The Block" to an underpowered translator. I wonder how long this will last?100% simulcasts can elect single line reporting where two or more sources are combined. Maybe, but these are all different sounding formats.AC, Adult Hits, Classic Hits, Hot AC, etc. are all the same format. It's adult top 40. The name doesn't really matter to me.
It’s top 40 music targeting adults. Some stations play currents, some don’t. Some stations lean more heavily into certain formats. Some stations lean younger, some older. I don’t understand why people get so caught up on titles. “Well, this station fits into this box.” Who cares? Does the station sound good or not? That’s what matters.Maybe, but these are all different sounding formats.
WKQC plays so few new songs it should be considered classic hits. After all, actual "classic hits" stations are playing songs from the past two decades,
Is that you, John?Ahh John Reynolds, I could say something but I won't.
You're kidding. right? Is that you, John?
Long time no see Mike! LNK is HOT AC with a target for females 45-54 and doing quite well for that demo considering how many changes we have undergone. We are not competing with any CHR.Interesting, does the WFNZ-FM rating reflect AM and FM? If so wow!

WBT barely hanging on. Time to do something, but what? New people moving to Charlotte might not know about this heritage station.
Yes. I'm just trying to figure out why you were defending him in that other post. I don't think anyone can argue that his performance has been a complete disaster since he took over WSOC. The numbers don't lie. WKKT is #2, and WSOC is #10. There is almost a 3 share difference between the two stations. You're kidding. right?
Actually I left K-104.7 because of him. Long boring story. Not defending just trying to be nice.Yes. I'm just trying to figure out why you were defending him in that other post. Not sure this is related because this has happened to pretty much every country station not playing "classic country", but I was in a store today and the first song was country sounding but had that sound that wasn't quite country. Maybe in a few years that song will sound country. The next song ... well, if I hadn't known it was WSOC, I would have said that's definitely AC and no one will convince me that's supposed to be country.Yes.
