Spike O'Neill is back - on KIRO

The past month as a lot of KIRO's talk hosts have taken summer vacation, there's been more appearances by Bob Rivers Show cast member Spike O'Neill and this morning it was made official on the Gee & Ursula show with Spike filling in for Gee Scott.

Spike will be the full time host of KIRO Nights from 7 to 10 PM weeknights beginning Monday, August 1st. He replaces Jack Stein in that daypart.
 
He sounds perfect for the format. Many of the former morning radio hosts in Rock, CHR, HOT-AC have successfully transitioned into the News/Talk arena across the country. Natural evolution of smart talent.

Jack Stine resigned of his own volition. He wanted a producer to help him with his show. Bonneville would not give him one
 
I see the comments on that instagram post are 30 weeks old. Glad he is most likely ok too. Not bad for a young guy doing talk radio. I'm sure he will do fine in the business. Good luck to Spike. He was very low key the other night when I tuned in... I thought maybe I had NPR on for a moment. zzzz.
