NYC Metro Radio Ratings - July 2022

Covering the period from Thu. 6/23/2022 through Wed. 7/20/2022:

Age 6+ overall: https://radioinsight.com/ratings/new-york/

Q104.3 has leapt to 2nd place with the largest share in station history (5.8).
WABC rises 3.1-4.1 (mostly 55+, but still impressive; at least John Cats has made them relevant).

Top 5 (or so) demo rankings for 25-54, 18-34 + 18-49:

25-54: WSKQ, WHTZ, WLTW
18-34: WAXQ, WCBS-FM, WLTW
18-49: WSKQ, WHTZ, WLTW

************

The July and August surveys are noted for much vacation time by both radio hosts and listeners,
disrupting usual listening patterns. Thus, not too much stock is placed on those results.

Q1043 aside, this more or less looks like a typical NYC ratings pattern - now if somebody could just tell this old geezer how WCBSFM is #2 18--34......

As mentioned in the LA section about KRTH: The PPM measures "hearing" and not "listening". Each meter is carried by someone, who may or may no select the station within his "zone".

Wow WABC 4.1.
Ratings were steadily declining over the past 3 months (3.6,3.3, 3.1) and then suddenly #7 and 4.1 !
As far as I know they aren't doing anything drastically different , even on the weekends, I wonder whats up?
The only thing that has changed is Curtis Sliwa at 12 instead of Charlie Kirk.

Cats' right hand man Chad has mentioned they are looking to add more stations, they made it sound like some stations within striking distance of Staten Island, perhaps Ferry Hawk live coverage?
They been losing so often I'm not sure if they have any fans at all, so that wouldn't be a safe bet.

Yet that number is less impressive when you consider that the gains are all in 55+. Last book they were around 23rd in 25-54.

To be fair AM radio is an old person's media. I think its safe to say 24-55 yr olds will never veer towards AM radio, even with contemporary music on.

They are now in a 5-way tie for 24th in 25-54. They are 29th in 18-49, and 13th in 35-64.
