KRTY-FM Los Gatos has been sold

I stand corrected! My experience is when they acquire a full power station, they switch the translator to AirOne or some other EMF property. Outside of a metro area, they seem to dot the countryside with low power translators that often overlap but it could be just my area of the country.
Like where I'm at, about 5 sticks with their spew located in different parts of town. Depending on location you might pick up most of them like I do.

Anyone care to comment on the revised ratings for KRTY'S online stream? KRTYS ratings were incorrectly applied to K-LOVE. They are doing quite well with the online only stream. Although not as good as their last ratings for the on air station. Good job KRTY!!!

Nielsen radio does not show streaming-only ratings.

The revised numbers are for the K-love FM only.

One can get the stream number by taking the original one and subtracting the revised, K-love FM number. The difference will be the stream. Radio Insight suggests that straight math, but I believe that there is a lack of contemplation of changes in weighting that have to be factored in.

Still, Lance points out that the KRTY brand has four decades of heritage and may indeed have considerable following. The only way to see if it continues is to see if the "new" country station surpasses the old KRTY numbers, given that it has a much better signal.

No, he says that the total number incorrectly issued, less the reissued number, give us the streaming number. Nielsen does not put stream-only "stations" in the radio book.

David always has to be right!
Citing the Nielsen rule about not including stream-only "stations" is simply passing on information. You can verify this on the Nielsen website as a lot of the basic ratings information is not behind the subscriber paywall.

Analysis from Country Aircheck

Country Aircheck

Nielsen explained that after KRTY became KLRK, "the Country-formatted internet feed continued to be operated by Empire Broadcasting as an internet-only station available at KRTY.com. Though internet-only sources are not eligible to be measured, encoded, or reported in any of Nielsen’s currency services, this internet-only station continued to transmit PPM-encoded audio."

My take is that the mistake gives Nate Deaton a huge win for his local advertisers.

That's an outstanding result for the KRTY stream; the folks behind that effort should be very proud! They retained a much larger percentage of their FM audience than I was expecting.

What's on 87.7 KBKF now? They removed it from their station listings. I'm under the impression something else will be on there soon.

Country Aircheck says the station owner Bob Kieve died two years ago, so this may have been an estate sale.
Yes it was. Prior to his death he tried to give away KLIV, which hadn't made a dime in nearly 20 years, but was kept alive by KRTY. Even the city of San José wouldn't take it for free. I believe that it was shortly after his death that KLIV was sold to a non-English broadcaster for a pittance. But that's what happens to AM these days.
