Jason Martin Exits WGFX

The people that run WGFX have really screwed the pooch. They broke up their consistently strongest teams and they are now suffering the consequences. Their listenership has tanked. Ramon Foster is utterly unlistenable and their other teams are weak. I do not understand the appeal of mush mouth Brett Daughtery but that’s a personal preference. Now the lose Martin after 2 years after he signed a “multi-year” contract. They need to start over with some professionals instead of this mish mash of local yokels. Dawn is a professional but she has no help. This ship is sinking

I have to ask this question. Given all the implosions/issues of literally every local sports name in Nashville on the air in this city, is there one name that hasn’t gotten a bad name? What the heck is it?

Depends on who “them” is, Firepoint. My guess is almost a dozen sports semi-stations cannot make enough money in a few months to cover the high costs and egos. If GFX can’t make the cut, how can 93, 94, 95, 102, 10.. cover the spread. And then there is AM. Not a change in my $book.

We have that many sports stations now? Aren't some of them translators? If we have that many, then we probably have too many for a market of this size.
