2 FM's for Sale

There's a listing for two FM's in the Phoenix market for sale for 1.5 million. I'm assuming it's two rimshots that together (according to the ad) give you full market coverage. I'm not too familiar with the market, but either the signals are really bad, or the values of FM stations have taken more of a hit than I thought. Anyone have a suspicion of what's for sale?

not 95.1 or 97.5, listing says full coverage, which neither of them are. To far out for the East Valley

95.1 puts a good signal into much of the valley. I pick it up perfectly in Mesa, even inside my stucco-encrusted house. Add the translator on 94.9 covering the SE valley, and you pretty much have full-metro coverage.

And I'm not counting 103.9-HD2 because not everybody has an HD radio.

KVVA/KDVA 107.1/106.9?
Entravision was supposed to move KVVA up to South Mountain and KDVA to 106.7. Sanford Cohen up in Prescott Valley has been blocking that move due to the expense of moving KPPV.

Could it be 105.1 and 100.3? Univision has been parting with some radio stations as of late.

If anybody knows, it's the Middle Eastern Men of the Media!
We are dumber than a box of rocks, but that hasn't hampered our careers...so far.

$1.5m for two full market signals? Shirley you jest! We think there's a lot of wasted wattage east of the Valley that an owner would like to unload.

Promise you, its not any of the Desert Valley stations, they would want a lot more than 1.5 million! Plus they have more than 2 FM's. I know a broker that was trying to sell two rim shot FM's who have different owners. KRPH Morristown on 99.5 that has been off the air more than its been on the air, paired with KIKO-FM Claypool on 96.5. One on the west side of the metro and the other on the east side of the metro to create full market coverage,, even though that wouldn't be totally true. Only other guess might be the two Sierra H Broadcasting stations, KZCE 101.1, and KAJM 104.3, but I would guess they might want more than 1.5 million as well. So who knows. But it sure isn't 94.9/95.1.

I'd imagine Sierra H's cash flow is more than 1.5 million. Plus, they're running the stations with little to no debt.

If it was KIKO-FM, I would imagine the other 1TV/Rocket AM rimshots would be included as well.

Sierra H only grosses approximately $2 million in combined billing on their two stations. There is no way they could have a 75% or better profit margin.

KIKO is not home to the Phoenix MSA.

My mistake. I meant to say their combined billing is more than $1.5 million (and that's before the lease money they get from CRC regarding the 99.3 translator they own). They should still be cash flow positive though.

Isn't DVMG's combined billing only in the seven-figures too?

Just barely in the 8 figure range. 90% of the billing is from KKFR and KMVA based on last year's results. Possibly KOAI has increased revenue given the publicity it has gotten due to the high ratings, even if those numbers are mostly 65 and over.

KIKO 96.5 can also be heard on K243BN. The translator essentially operates as a booster
I thought John Low was in an ongoing fight with Vic Michael over that translator. IIRC, K243BN might still be simulcasting K-Love.
