Jason Ginty exits WKBU

Jason Ginty announced today on the Play Pants Podcast, that he co-hosts with Rod Ryan, that his last day with classic rock WKBU, Bayou 95.7, will be this Friday, April 29, 2022. He will be moving across town to WZRK, Alt 92.3, to take over as PD and also handle drive time from 3pm to 7pm. No official start date yet for his on air shift.

Just fyi, it's WZRH. A nod to the original 106.1 The Zephyr.

NOLA radio trivia: so what did those call letters originally stand for?
Not sure if this is what you're getting at. But way back in the day there was a WZRH-AM in Florida.

It was before my time at 1601 Shortcut Highway, but pre-Zephyr wasn't 106.1 Z-Rock for a while? I could see the calls as "We're Z-Rock... Howes?". I mean the good Doctor* made us play his 'famous' country song every hour during Mardi Gras, why wouldn't he also stick his name in the call letters, hah!
