ALT 92.3 Is Teasing a Huge Announcement Today at 5

Posted in their Instagram Story. "Huge-Huge announcement today at 5 with @Bradyonair"
Any ideas on what it might be? New music? Something with the station itself?

Yes to the former, no to the latter. Wallen's capable of much better. But if his label wants to cross him over to CHR, that would be a good start. Of course, he could just cut a pure rhythmic track, like Kane Brown has done with "Grand," and not send it to country radio at all.

But seriously, I doubt a format flip is coming.

Yea Wallen has "wasted on you" which was a #1 country hit now #25 on the billboard pop airplay chart & "grand" is #23.

Alt 92.3 in New Orleans, now that it has a very competent PD at the helm, sounds vastly superior to New York's Alt 92.3.

That being said, I do have to say WNYL has seen some minor playlist improvement lately. They appear to be doing an all 90's weekend of their own this weekend, but I like what I'm hearing on WEDG and WZRH better. (All three stations are doing 90s alternative themed weekends.)

Looking at the music log for today for WNYL again, I am going to have to boost my opinion of them a bit. There are actually a number of titles that received airplay today that are quite impressive by that station's normally low standards, or for that matter, most FM dial "alternative" stations' standards. Definitely a nice change of pace.

They are running a 90s weekend for Labor Day FYI.
