WXVU gets 89.1 Full-Time

All the news doesn't have to be about the big guys! :)

From RadioInsight:

"Villanova University and Cabrini University have reached a time-share termination agreement to allow Villanova’s student-run 89.1 WXVU Villanova PA to move to full-time operation as Cabrini has surrendered the license of its 89.1 WYBF Radnor Township. Cabrini will receive $125,000 when the FCC approves WXVU’s application to operate full-time on the frequency. WYBF’s student-run programming will continue online as CavalierRadio.com."

That's huge news to me. Next up...Increasing the station's output.

Last I heard, they do a lot of smooth jazz as a nighttime filler format when students aren't on-the-air. So you could say this is kinda sorta yet another small partial return of smooth jazz to the airwaves somewhere in the Philly area.
