This was mentioned on another thread about the 760 frequency. Does anyone have additional information?
I thought there is already a 760 in Sonora, within 150 miles of the border. This was mentioned on another thread about the 760 frequency. Does anyone have additional information?
That's right, XENY Nogales is on 760 5kw-D, 100 watts-N. How could the FCC approve this???I thought there is already a 760 in Sonora, within 150 miles of the border.
XENY's website and the Mexican government lists still show XENY as active. But, of course, websites live on after a station dies and the government list is usually a bit behind. That's right, XENY Nogales is on 760 5kw-D, 100 watts-N. How could the FCC approve this???
It looks like XENY has or will be moving to 1270. But, who on earth would want to build a new AM with a 4 tower array, in this day and age. Why not an FM?XENY's website and the Mexican government lists still show XENY as active. But, of course, websites live on after a station dies and the government list is usually a bit behind.
1270 is where XENY lived for many decades, moving relatively recently to 760.It looks like XENY has or will be moving to 1270. But, who on earth would want to build a new AM with a 4 tower array, in this day and age. Why not an FM?

I suspect it is less miles, between 40-60.I thought there is already a 760 in Sonora, within 150 miles of the border.
It is still active and was one of the only radio stations that did not migrate to FM due to a spectrum availability issue. This radio was rejected because the company already had an FM license and other frequencies with a "sole" owner were given the opportunity. Both the 760 of Nogales, 1010 of Ures, Sonora and 1270 of Navojoa are the only ones in AM operating.XENY's website and the Mexican government lists still show XENY as active. Exactly, it's 105.1 XHNI FM Estéreo Genial. Which has very good numbers in the nogales.1270 is where XENY lived for many decades, moving relatively recently to 760.
XENY has had a sister FM going back to the late 70's. I even programmed it for a while in the earlier 80's.
