For reasons that remain something of a mystery to me, CFZM is a tough catch in Florida. Of course, signals such as KTRH, KRMG, and whatever the Orlando 740 calls itself complicate things.I'm just decidrf yo go on SDR's
I'm on the Boca Raton, FL SDR on 740 to see if Zoomer wil be there
Nope, I think Cuben. But playing Engish Music like AC..How can I check AM in Cuba?
I've heard CFZM in Florida, but only a small handful of times. Considering how well they get out in other directions, I'd expect them to break through more often, but they don't.
As for Cuba, the best way to identify the Cubans is when you hear the same programming on multiple channels. The big signals are almost all occupied by the biggest national networks, Of course, hearing two signals from Cuba with simulcast programming is easier said than done.
R. Rebelde is heavy with news, sports, and talk. R. Progreso is more music and entertainment oriented. But each network caries at least some amount of all programming types. R. Reloj isn't on as many big signals, but is easy to identify with the time pips that can break through crowded channels, even when the rest of the audio does not. Finally, hearing even a smaller Cuban signal isn't impossible. As posted previously, several years ago I heard R. Enciclopedia on 530 in the Southern California desert. 10kw (suppodedly) on an uncrowded channel. Easy to ID because it's basically instrumental "elevator" music with all female announcers.
Hope this helps!
