A Few Houston Radio Notes

Would that be legal? I guess it doesn't really matter in Houston.
It's just 1 translator (maybe 2 if they used the HUM FM translator) and 2 LPFMs. That translator just needs an originating station. I did see K259DC recently got a CP for 102.5. KMAZ keeps getting crushed.

DAIJ Media should consider new call letters for its religious programming on AM 1590 KMIC.
During the "Radio Disney" ownership period, the MIC stood for MIC-KEY-MOUSE.
"Hiiii folks, Minnie and Goofy will be here in a minute. Let us pray...."

I’m pretty sure they tried to do it with no delay. Or maybe it’s a trick to say they’re not simulcasting and are repeating? I do t know I’m just throwing ideas out their.

I still think RADIO DABANG will stop leasing 99.5 FM and move only to KMIC and 98.3.

Which will leave 99.5 Available for lease, unfortunately I think PLATINOMAX will lease it out and bring La Caliente back to FM on their.

With this New Translator the 102.5 channel will have a little better coverage in the city.

That would leave LA MEJOR on 102.5 and possibly even lease out K259DC as well unless HUM FM leases it out first.

Could KMAZ “donate” the station away? And then it would be 3 LPFMs, and 3 translators??

I hope KMAZ stays. But it would be cool seeing the same format across multiple translators and LPFMs all over the city

880 AM is playing romantic songs, and then they announced the station but with the static I couldn’t tell if they said RADIO LUZ 880 am.

And then for the legal ID they had the same guy who did the voice overs for LATINO BROADCASTING CORPORATION saying THIS IS KJOZ 880 AM Conroe una estación de LATINO …

96.1 La Nueva LP has been dead air since last night. They still have RDS saying LA NUEVA 96.1

They where both on air an hour ago, and they both had the same programming, not like a few days ago when 94.1 and 96.1 had different programming.

I can hear 96.1 KCDF and 107.3 KCVE are on the air and those have different programming from 94.1. I think one of them are like an hour or 2 behind (or something like that).

La Caliente Digital has added 102.5 to their imaging. So it seems La Mejor MVS is no longer in 102.5 again.

So it seems La Caliente and La Mejor take turns with 102.5?? All last week LA CALIENTE WAS ON 102.5 including Friday. I heard Emilio El Güey saying LA CALIENTE DIGITAL 102.5.

And then Saturday, Sunday and this morning it was La Mejor.

The roller coaster continues, even on La Calientes Facebook page they added the 102.5 FM on the logo.

I don’t know if these count for Houston but KWUP recently added RDS. I also noticed KUBJ had RDS last month and ik they didn’t have RDS earlier. Now KEHH and KHIH need RDS

If nobody noticed, 850 was dead air and dead signal as a matter of fact, on Monday and Tuesday when I was in town. It sounded like it was extreme low power with no audio but one hell of a buzz and hum. I wonder if the FCC made a visit? Poor platinum radio got hooked up with a joke of an operation.
