Charlie Brown, beach music DJ

Remember listening to Charlie Brown on WKIX doing a remote from the "Piggy Park" in Raleigh. My mom drove an Oldsmobile and we would sit in the parking lot while the car hops brought burgers and fries. Years later I had the priveldge of working with him when he was a salesman at KIX.

Thanks for the info. I believe the Charlie Brown in Philadelphia's real name was Victor Ventors or something very similar.

Just scrolling through all of these people, and came across this. I listened to his program every weekend! It was a great show. 102.9 WKIX Raleigh.

He also worked at 920 in Burlington. Definitely associated with WKIX for many years.

They are still using him as host of "On the Beach" using archived audio. Seems a bit strange to me, kinda like when they kept running Rush for a while after he passed.

I remember a little jingle that was played on his show on KIX. It went:
Fattest man in Raleigh town
(bass) What's his name, boys?
(all) Charlie Brown!
