In a market that is about 30% Hispanic in ages 18-49, you've eliminated two of the three Spanish language stations.

Honestly, my dream opinion for every city isn't viable, due to the limited number of available stations. It's simply one to two stations for as many formats/genres that we can think of. That's not commercially viable, nor is it logical with the available bandwidth.

I notice that your list does not include the customary public radio station, and I'm saying this as someone who doesn't normally listen to public radio. I guess public radio is not part of everyone's dream, right?

Those are only the commercial channels that are being allocated to the "Imagine Dial". If we included the 88 to 91 mHz channels, we'd have NPR, classical, maybe jazz, as well as some ethnic options and religious talk and music.

Since the reserved band is not being discussed, I am assuming that it would remain unchanged in all those what-if scenarios. On NickD's dream dial, WNYC-FM is absent, which means that those who want to listen to NPR's Morning Edition and All Things Considered would have to tune to WNYC on 820 AM. I admit that I didn't think about the AM station when I wrote my previous post.

Well, I just won the lottery. I'm okay now, despite a shark attack on the way to the bank and being struck by lightning back home. Here's the dial I just bought. Something for everyone, I ttust.
92.3 : All weather, from the Weather Channel; Solid Gold Weather on weekends.
93.1 : Morning news from Radio Rumbos, Tropical mx all day, Jai alai weekends.
93.9 : Same as it is weekdays, Beautiful News on weekends.
94.7 : Traditional C&W, with two current 'Country' songs per hour.
95.5 : 40's and 50's Standards, with 70's WPLJ processing. In mono.
96.3 : Classical 7 days daytime, live chess and backgammon matches nights.
97.1 : Hot A/C and CHR 'round the clock. They're the same thing, anyway.
97.9 : All 50's and 60's Jazz, Les Davis III PD. Couple of currents per hour.
98.7 : Back to Bill Drake, 15 billion songs in a row. No live human voices ever.
99.5 : Free-form mornings, Right-wing talk middays ; BLM and Antifa talk eves.
100.3 : Beautiful Music once more.
101.1 : 50's and 60's oldies 6 days; late 60's Chicken Rock on Saturdays.
101.9 : All Sports Gambling 24/7/52 ; Gamblers Anonymous on New Years's Eve.
102.7 : For the gals, Barbie Radio returns. What was it called again? 'Pink' ?
103.5 : Electronic Dance Music, like there used to be on 87.7.
104.3 : 1990's Grunge. That's what the eventually want, anyway, right ?
105.1 : Hot Rap Talk mornings ; Solid Gold Rap all day ; a few currents hourly.
105.9 : Auditorium test music reels ; hourly signal distress announcements.
106.7 : 24/7/52/365 Holiday Music. Good, safe ratings every month.
107.5 : Same as is, with Solid Gold Soul Weekends.

Two commercial Dance stations, you're speaking my language sir. I do wish the real world had come to embrace a more 'dance friendly' terrestrial radio dial in the U.S.

In this dream radio dial, would one of them have a particular lean, i.e. one leaning on more classic dance, or perhaps one leaning more EDM? Or would they both play current dance and aim for a - for lack of a better term - CHR/Dance sound? Or maybe they'd both be Happy Hardcore outlets, j/k.

I find it odd that the NYC dial lacks those formats as well. Just as odd the OP missed Alternative on that list.

Not bad, except for Barbie Radio, Holiday music, and the uproar there would be with the loss of the only Rock station Q104.3 which I would keep as is. There just needs to be a station with Classic Alt they are doing now on WNYL and New Alternative.

Looks like radio for New York after a sinister round of "ethnic cleansing" of the population.

LOL. I left all the Urban and ethnic stations alone except for WXBK. So they are still there to serve that demographic. I just did not add those frequencies to the list since why bother if I am leaving them alone.
