They preempted that for this?

St Louis gets Chiefs, Packers, and Bears, but how much demand is there for NFL pre season when the Super Bowl had lower ratings compared to other places? St Louis only has a Chiefs radio affiliate

I have always found Omaha curious. They don't have a Vikings radio affiliate, and are outside of the territory that is guaranteed to get most Vikings games, but get the pre-season games.
Omaha also doesn't have a Packers or broncos radio affiliate, only a Chiefs radio affiliate, Lubbock has a Chiefs radio affiliate, what are the restrictions on radio for the NFL?

Starting Friday Aug. 26, 2022 WOI 5 will begin airing Friday Night Blitz again at 10:35pm and pushes Jimmy Kimmel to 11:30pm and Nightline to 12:32am with Dateline at 1am which normally airs at 12:05am.

Saturday Aug. 27 KCCI 8 will air Vikings @ Broncos from 8pm to 11pm. Pushing News and syndicated programming back an hour with 48 hours which aired from 8-10 on CBS will air overnight from 2-4am.

On Monday September 5, 2022 KCCI 8 will air Searching for Johnny : 40 years later from 7-8pm. The Neighborhood and Bob hearts Abishola will air from 12:35am-1:35am.

This may have been mentioned already, but I think there were three NBC affiliates in Iowa
that carried "Hee Haw" Fridays at 6:30 and delayed "Sanford and Son" to the same time
on Saturday. After all, going head to head with Lawrence Welk on Saturdays 6-7 in Iowa
would have been suicidal.

Didn't stop WSPA in Spartanburg from going up against Lawrance Welk on WLOS...and it lasted longer, till 1992!

WSPA is where I watched "Hee Haw". WSOC delayed it, I think until the next Thursday.

If we stayed in a motel room (for example, when we went to see my aunt outside Washington, D.C. to persuade her to go into assisted living), my mother got to see "Lawrence Welk". I liked that kind of music but the show isn't nearly as fun. However, the "Hee Haw" I missed was eventually repeated.

I know in the 80's Hee Haw aired on WOI 5 at 6pm.

WSPA is in South Carolina, not Iowa. In some Southern markets (such as Greenville/Spartanburg/Asheville and Greensboro/Winston-Salem/High Point), "Hee Haw" and Welk ran against each other and were almost dead-even in the ratings. But to look at some Southern editions of TV Guide, "Hee Haw" appears to have been the program of choice on Saturdays at 7. A few cases in point:

For years, "Hee Haw" was on WFMY, WWAY, WNCT, WTVD, and WBTW in the North Carolina edition; Welk was on
WBTV, WITN, and WGHP.

In the Atlanta edition, "Hee Haw" was on WSB, WRCB, and WMGT; Welk was on WMAZ.

In Northern Alabama, "Hee Haw" would be on WTVF (sometimes at 5:30 instead of 6 (CT)), WTVA, WVTM, WAAY, WCFT (WSES, I think it is now), and WJSU (now WGWW); Welk would be on WBRC and either WHNT or WAFF in Huntsville.

And in Central Virginia: "Hee Haw" on WFMY, WHSV, WVVA, WDBJ, WTVD; Welk on WGHP.

Indeed, outside Charlotte, it was hard to find a station that didn't carry "Hee Haw" on Saturday. Welk might turn up on Friday or Sunday.

WXYZ (ABC Detroit) cut away from baseball for the 3pm hour to show infomercials. Now that the bills (were) paid they (went) back in St. Louis.

Because of the 3 & a half hour rain delay for Game 2 of the National League Division Series on FOX between the Philadelphia Phillies & the Atlanta Braves, primetime was preempted which featured The Masked Singer (which was shown in Canada on CTV) & Lego Masters. Interesting thing was, shortly after 8 Eastern, the official Masked Singer show Twitter account posted that they'd air the show after the game, but a short time later deleted it & stated they weren't. I'm not a fan of the show, nor am I a fan of The Masked Singer, but bad job by FOX leaving fans of that show hanging, heck not even Joe Davis, who called the game, acknowledged the viewers tuning in expecting the show & perhaps telling them when/if the show would air tonight. I understand & had no issues with FOX deciding to boot primetime tonight as a result of the baseball rain delay, but they should've done a better job communicating & letting fans know.

It was a great game, but outside of hardcore baseball fans, it likely had no interest whatsoever outside Atlanta, Philadelphia and adjacent markets. Both NLDS series' are intra-division matchups with little interest outside their home territories.

I know that Tuesday the drew Barrymore show was listed at 3 and 3:30 and when I went to watch it was baseball instead. Then Wednesday it said the masked singer and it was baseball. They really didn't acknowledge their programming very good this week.

WJZY aired TMZ, Judge Mathis, People’s Court and a Hispanic Heritage Special when the Phillies-Braves game would’ve been going on.

Thankfully, this week, no issues with having to reschedule FOX primetime as it's airing, albeit on a 43-minute delay due to long NLCS Phillies/Padres Game 2. Clearly The Masked Singer is priority number 1 as had the game kept going past 9 Eastern & the Phillies did come back, Lego Masters would've been the first to go. I'm sure if preemptions had to happen again, we surely would've looked at the possibility of having a back-to-back to 2 episodes in a week of at least Lego Masters in order to get the series in before X-Mas holidays.

It will be interesting to see the effect the pitch clock will have next season. If enforcement is strict, the difference in the length of postseason games, especially, will be dramatic.

Game 3 of the World Series has been rained out & has pushed the World Series schedule back a day with an off day, if series goes beyond 5 on Friday & it creates a conflict for the FOX affiliates in Philly & Houston as Eagles/Texans TNF is scheduled to be simulcasted on those stations. Also interesting on a local level here in Phoenix, that KSAZ isn't even bothering to air its usual weeknight newscasts before primetime opting to air syndicated programming instead. TNF in Houston will air on KRIV's sister KTXH My20, no word on Philly yet with WTXF not having the luxury of a FOX sister station.
