Former Radio Studio Fire

A somewhat confusing story.. Could this be a former studio site now used only as a transmitter or AUX site? 92.1 would be KCMT. and 96.1 KLPX,,

From KOLD...story abstract,... More at:

""TUCSON, Ariz. (KOLD News 13) - A vacant building that formerly housed two radio stations was damaged by fire early Thursday, Oct. 20."

"The fire happened at 2555 N. Coyote Drive, near Grant Road west of I-10."

"The building used to be the location of two FM radio stations, 96.1 and 92.1."

(Story continues.. photo, etc..)

This was the 'original' building - studios and transmitter for KTKT-AM and the others picked up along the way. They moved out to that facility in 1967, per info found here: ** KTKT Tribute Site **

See, AM is so dead the story completely neglected the original station that occupied the facility.

Sad.

The average age of the KOLD staff (excepting Bud Foster, who skews the average by at least a decade or two) is such that they would barely know what radio is, let alone AM radio...
Valerie Cavazos might be an exception to that generalization.

2008 AZ Daily Star Article

'Firewalled' article, like everything else on the'Star' website. So I'm guessing you're point is that Valerie's older than she looks on-air?
Married to someone that been in media (radio) for decades.

Her leading digit in age is 6. Or really close to that.
